By the way, I have the trait "Take the fight to them" and the disadvantage Death before dishonour, as that is the only disadvantage that would affect such low point games.
So any comments? Anything and everything is appreciated.

Hey,

Looks pretty good, although I have a couple of suggestions:

1) - Firstly, Squad 1 is actually only 181 points, and Squad 2 is only 121 points. This gives you a little more room to work with.

2) - Take 2 marines from Squad 1 and put them in Squad 2. 2 Squads of 8 men are better than a squad of 10 and 6. Your Troops are then evenly spread over two units with a similar role.

3) - I'd personally get rid of the Chaplain, they are unnecessary at this points level. With the points you save, buy a 5-man tactical squad with a Lascannon to deal with any armour you might encounter. Spend another 5 points on upgrading one of the above Sergeant's power weapons to a power fist so that you aren't bogged down by tough nasties. This gives you the same total, 397. I'm sure you could come up with something to use those last 3 points up.

Ah I see where I messed up with the points, thought power weapons were 15 points, not what they are. :-\

I like the suggestions, and will use them. Would a multi-melta do in place of a lascannon? I want to stick to my armys fluff, and will still do extremely well against the low armour value tanks you'll see in combat patrols.

I just need a question answered before I modify the list here:

When doing modifications for a list, should you edit your first post with the list in it, or can you just put it in your new post? If your allowed to do either, what one is more convienient?

A Multi-melta would work I think, Combat Patrols are usually played on 48'' x 48'' boards or smaller, so the Multi-melta's 24'' range is not going to be too huge an issue. You really shouldn't see many vehicles anyway, only the odd transport or two. You will also be able to stick a flamer into that squad as well if you want.

Most people put the modified list in a new post, although you can do it either way. Personally I find it is better when people make a new post, as it's just easier to refer to in a long thread, and you can still find the original. It also means that people who are interested in the list can see it evolve through the thread. Really use whatever you find most convenient yourself though.

Ok, here's a new list.

[HQ]

[hr]

[ELITES]

[hr]

[TROOPS]

Troops 1: Tactical squad: 151 points
- 6 marines with close combat weapons and bolt pistols
- 1 marine with flamer
- 1 vet. sarg. with power weapon and bolt pistol

Troops 1: Tactical squad: 151 points
- 6 marines with close combat weapons and bolt pistols
- 1 marine with flamer
- 1 vet. sarg. with power weapon and bolt pistol

[hr]

[FAST ATTACK]

[hr]

[HEAVY SUPPORT]

Heavy Support 1: Devastator squad: 95 points
- 4 marines with bolters
- 1 marine with multi-melta

Couldn't squeeze in that power fist, but I don't think I'll be facing too many high toughness enemy's.

Looks good, although there's no reason to put the Multi-melta in a Devastator squad - take a normal Tactical Squad instead. Not only is the Multi-melta cheaper, but you also do not have to deploy the squad first (seeing as how Heavy Support must be deployed before Troops). That saves 10 points, which could get you a Power Fist (if you want it) and a Flamer.

Oh, when looking through the unit entry, I missed the multi-melta, so I'll just change that squad to a tact squad, throw in a flamer, and just give one of the vet sarg's a power fist.

Thanks alot Charn for all your help.
