I love the highlighting on the shield, but the armor seems to be lacking in the shading department. It also appears that you put Golden Yellow directly over black primer; not generally a good idea. Otherwise a good job though. I'm currently in the middle of painting captain lysander using the method for yellow detailed by Court Jester. It takes forever, put it should pay off in the end. I'll post mine(actually my little brother's) when complete, and we can see who's cuisine reigns supreme!

one quick suggestion: when highlighting leafy green, such as the laurels on that shield, try adding sunburst yellow to the mix rather than white...it just creates a nicer, less washed-out green

GW sunburst is what i use...dunno what the vallejo equivalent is

I usually use a fortress grey under coat and 2-3 non watered down thin coats of sunburst. this usually gives a nice clean yellow. Although if you are lazy you could put one thick layer, but then it is prone to cracking.
