Default GS Harker and Other Stuff (Vague, I know...) Very, very, very, very pic heavy

A number of things this time.
1) I decided to include another Veteran squad in my army, here's the list:

GS Harker
2 vet with flamer
1 vet with grenade launcher
1 vet with voxcaster+lasgun
6 vets with lasguns

Chimera
2 Heavy Flamers
Smoke Launchers
Searchlight
Dozer Blade
Camo Netting

All comes to 225pts-Any cc or comments...
Below are some pics of my custom built Harker:
Long Shot

Close up - Notice Face Camo

'Payback'

Rear View w/t ccw

Removed the picture with flock all over him
-------------------------------------------------------------
Point 2) I made a visible rank system for my units-wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it...
Commander+ Rank - Double full Shoulder Guards

Command Squad - Horizontal stripe on both shoulders

Sergeant - Full right shoulder

Corporal - Vertical Stripe

Thats alot of typing.

Initial thoughts were:
Mould lines are clearly visible.
Paints need thinning for a more even coat. More thin coats is better than one thick coat.
You need to be a lot cleaner in your application of paint, there is a lot of overspill. If you can't get the paint where you want it, get a better brush with a tip or a finer detail brush. Watering the paint down also helps with brush control.
Also, why do you have flock on the gun and up as high as his shoulders?

If you want grey, don't just leave the plastic coming through, paint it grey. Otherwise it looks pretty unfinished.

For the flock, i accidently managed to blow into the flock container and the stuff kinda exploded.
Also, they are painted codex grey, not just bare plastic.
Oh, and the brown is suppose to be on the HB and ccw as it shows the catachan's noted praticallity of dulling anything shiny that might give away their position.

Did you undercoat the models? I can see plastic sprue coming through in the facial areas and others... and it's the same colour as the grey areas.
Take the flock off Tweezers will do it.

I have removed most of it now.
What do you think of the actual Harker conversion as oppose to the GW metal one?

Yeah, I like it a lot

Hard to see though how he is as strong as a space marine. Apparently he killed a ravener by snapping its neck , not the kind of guy that you want to bump into on a back alley.

Where you've attached the boltgun half to the lasgun is really messy (as in it looks like hacked apart plastic), not to mention the handle on the sword on harkers back. As was stated before I can clearly see plastic below the paint on harkers shoulder pads, and the paint is far too thick. The actual conversion looks ok, but it would look so much better if you took your time, undercoated and watered down your paints.

Seriously, it should be a rare occurance that your actualy using paint neat from the pot, I'm not the greatest painter in the world, but it's absolutely key to making your models look even slightly presentable.

On a major plus side, your about a billion times better at photographing minis then me, the pics are very detailed, hence why your getting all this feedback.

Theres some good conversions Viper.
A few things you could do to take it to the next level is to undercoat you minis first - probably chaos black all over. You can even use the spray can. :P
Also water you paints down on a pallet and apply them in more then one layer. This will make it look smoother.
Your paint application is neat which is a great foundation to build from. Thanks for sharing ;D
