Default Completed Broadside unit (as seen WIP in Conversion)

Here's the Tau Broadsides Ive been working on completed. I still have yet to snow flock and turf them, but the painting is all done. The hip-shooter squad leader Ive posted previously. The other 2 have marine land speeder missile racks for their SMS, and under arm rail guns. The legs are cut at the knee, and use crisis flamers and the top of tau stealth suit body plates for shin guards.

Wow mate, really nicely done, painting and converting. Get those bases done and you're golden!

Great painting and converting. It looks like the one a cool sa'cea scheme which I do not like. Bases are the worst part of them but need to be done.

Although I was never a fan if the two-railguns-together-as-a-rifle thing, it looks a bit front heavy the way most people do it (however that's basically how unmodified broadsides look anyways), but you pulled it off pretty well with the way you positioned it relative to the suit's center of mass. I like the arm underslung ones, I only wish that's the way crisis suit weapons attached by default. Also good how you used those land speeder missile pods to make the SMS distinct from missile pods, even though they are pretty big in proportion. Also, beautiful paint scheme! I'm doing something similar myself, and I'd like to know how you got that orange (my mixes always turn out a bit too reddish). The striping pattern is particularly impressive. The bases are incomplete, so I'll not comment (still better than what I can do).

The Orange- yellow I use is not that difficult actually. All companies paints in the yellow range are very translucent so you need multiple coats. I undercoat grey, then use golden yellow in thin wet coats allowing each layer to dry before adding another until its opaque. I lighten it with some bleached bone added to it to highlight, and finally if I want a more evened tone I use a yellow glaze.

I like them, they kinda give off a bit of a Battle-Tech feel. Great job.

Please do not post in very old threads. Though they are nice models this has been gone for around 9-10months.

please read the forum rules and you will find this sort of action is unacceptable.
