Default Tau Fire Warrior (comments?)

Hello! After the comments I got on my tau commander I figured I would post my newest figure to see what you guys thought of him.

So, What do you think?

BLAM! Its a Combat shotgun!

The camo on the gun isn't so good I think....

A great improvement on the last models of yours I saw, I can see you do need to scrape some mould lines off before you paint it though, and the paint is a little too thick in places.

"and the paint is a little too thick in places" Is that on the shotgun? That's the only place I didn't use thinned paints. Ok... On the next one I'll try putting fewer coats of paint.

What do you think of the pose?

No. Thinner = more layers. If you want your paint to come out less thick, you should water it down even more, and then add even more layers. I see the paint being fine on the blue, but on the thick side for the grey and definitely too thick for the camo.

The pose is a little strange - why would he be staring at the shotgun like that AND moving at the same time? It's not very dynamic and looks awkward.

Nice job overall, though.

The extreme highlighting has come out pretty well, especially on the pulse rifle. It's good that you're willing to try particular techniques like that. I expect you'll improve very quickly if you keep at it.

This is such an improvement on your commander, well done! It's great to see that you've taken the C&C you got on him and improved your painting this much. Personally, I don't think the pose is too bad - he's sort of slowly advancing, checking the shotgun over as he goes. Might look better with legs that looked less "dynamic" and more like they were slowly advancing though. The camo on the shoutgun I'm not entirely sure about, especially with those large light coloured dots. It just looks like a few dots of colour over green, not really like real camo. Google some pictures of camo for reference if you want to try something different on future models.

One other tiny thing - you haven't completely shaved away the Scout's hand from the shotgun, you can still see where his finger was. Other than that and the slightly thick paint that people already mentioned, I think he looks great.

And if you have time, I'd brake fluid the commander and do an equally nice job on him.

I like the highlights, but i suggest running a few more coats on the red of the shoulder pad as i can see the black from underneath.

good job
