Default Airframe-pattern Battlesuit

I started this a long time ago, but never got around to finishing the optics. The Gundam/Tau topic reminded me that I never posted the final version.

I'm stealing your head Khanaris. Don't try and stop me. :shifty:

I don't care for the boosters myself, but the model does come together well. I also don't know what's with the paint, but I like it.

Seventh Sanctum signature oddities.

Ha! That's ace. I can just picture this guy in Battlesuit training:

'Ok, now ease up on the throttle nice and gently...'
'Oh God, he's gone into orbit again. I'm going for a smoke, gimme a shout when he gets down.'

Or Iron Man:

"Commencing flight test number #1. 10% thrust. Ready... Go."

Other Earth caste members cringe.

But other than that, I'm in love. This pattern is awesome! Vectored Retro-thrusters should've looked like this!!! ;D

Hail to the God-Emperor, Baby!

Heh, it reminds me of Zoids...

The model seems odd somehow though, like it's a bit... unbalanced? I do have a question though. How does he steer?

Is that source lighting I see around those sensors? Nice!

The conversion itself is certainlt well executed, and I do like it, although it might look slightly less top-heavy if you'd shortened one of those engines a bit. Painting-wise, the source lighting I mentioned earlier is good, highlighting is neat other than a tiny bit on the right flamer canister where you've slopped over a bit. You also seem to have tried a bit of what Gareth did to his Tau, ie more "natural" highlighting, painting areas where the light falls more on it lighter, such as the top of the burst cannons and the thrusters, which is nice.

Also...Tau purity seals?!
RIP KJ and Israfel. We will remember them.

It's strange, that thing is SOOOOO over the top, super exaggerated crazy. and yet I love it!
completely impractical and possibly even clumsy on the battlefield. I'll take six!

very nice conversion job, and the painting is excellent. Well done. I might copy the idea, in as much as taking a battlesuit and going very extreme in converting it and see where it takes me. Thanks for taking a bold move and showing us what's possible.

the painting is great. the thrusters look quite cool, but in the rear angle they look too big. do you count this as having retro thrusters? (hit and run)
