Default Lord Bovine's Salamanders

-Ok as I take more pictures and complete more minis I will post the pics here.
-Full Squads will have their own pictures and notable models within the squad will get their own pics.

Tactical Squad 1
Sgt.

This guy gets his own pics as he has the best backpack of all my marines. He was made primarily of bits from the command squad box along with the backpack from Chaplain Xavier. I also think that his is the best face that I have ever done. The fingers of the powerfist are tipped with the teeth of a slain salamander!

Heavy

I am particularly proud of this guy. I personally love the beaky helmets and I love how the flames turned out on it. When I made this guy I was missing the missile launcher bit that comes with a standard tactical squad. Rather than order the bit I got creative and made a "stinger" missile launcher using a pintle mounted ML bit from a rhino accessory sprue, a hand from a chainsword arm, and the extended arm from a standard bolter marine. The right arm is an unmodified arm from an older biker marine sprue. I like to say that since the Salamanders are one of the most tech savvy chapters in the Imperium that the Adeptus Mechanicus chose them to field test this new missile launcher model.

Special

This guy was made from a 13th company box. I really like the look of the chaos legs on this guy. I cut the stock off of the Plasma Gun as I thought that they have always made them look unwieldy, not to mention it is easier to assemble the model by doing so.

The other guys

Again, these guys are made from a 13th company box with the chaos and SW logos filed off; and a standard tactical squad box. The antenna head is from a Rhino sprue. The horned guy bears the trophy horns of a slain salamander.

More to come soon!

Nice conversions. My favourite is the Salamander with the Missile Launcher. The Veteran I think doesn't suit Xavier's Cloak but that's just me :P. The rest of the models look great, especially with the Chaos Marine legs, though I think using their heads was a bit too far.

Look forward to updates.

Lookin good. The sergeant is by far my favorite one, he looks so PISSED off. It's great. I like the fingers as salamander teeth detail.

The only thing I think doesn't fit in is the chaos marine helmet with the horns, it's to blatantly choaotic in my opinion.

He is one of my favorite Marines in the entire army ;D. Once I flesh out my army a little more he will likely be promoted to a Devastator Sgt. When I first saw that helmet in my 13th company box my first thought was not chaos, but rather slain salamander trophy horns >.

You might want to file down the 'arrow' motif on the helmet as that is a reoccurring image in chaos iconography.

Update time. I just finished my finals for the semester so expect to see my progress shoot up over the summer.

Librarian & Familiar

I made this guy using one of the metal Dark Angels veterans. The left arm is a modified missile launcher marine arm. The right arm came from one of the older (2nd. edition maybe) librarian models. The backpack was made using a standard backpack and the heads from plastic skink archers from an older WHFB starter set. The scrolls on his belt are from a SM command squad sprue. The familiar is an older metal Skink archer champion with a green stuff cape sculpted to his back to hide the bow.

Company Champion

Nothing too special here, just a standard champion from the command squad box.

Command Squad Sgt.

This dude was made using the power fist from the 13th company box with the SW logo filed off. Head is a SW head. Right arm is a standard chaos marine arm, bolt pistol included. I loved the look of the bullets hanging below the pistol, as well as the look of a black bracer on the arm.

Attack Bike

Older attack bike model with the metal sidecar bits. I am really happy with the flame on the fender of the sidecar.

Land Raider Crusader

Painting this thing made me never want to paint a tank ever again. I cannot even remember how many hours it took me to finish this green shoe box of death. I am toying with the thought of putting more flames on it since (excluding the front) the majority of the tank is rather plain. Taking these pictures also made me realize that there is some decal residue around the transfers that I need to clean off. Overall I am relatively happy with it other than the lack of flames, however I probably won't get around to adding them for a while since I will rarely use it in games.

More pics coming soon.

Nice work. The Land Raider Crusader looks amazing. The only thing I don't particularly like is the colour scheme of the Librarian. I understand it's good to make him a different colour but I think the blue and brown clash too much. Just my personal opinion though. You obviously think differently.

Once again, good job. Look forward to seeing more.

It could be hard to tell from the lighting in the pics (still working on that one) but it is actually standard librarian ultramarines blue armor, with crimson (red gore) robes.

I knew it was Ultramarines Blue but I just don't think it fits in with the rest of your army. Unless you did more models in the same style but that would be a bit weird :-\.
