Default Minsk 72nd Stormtroopers with Converted Commissar

Well, here they are, the first few Stormtroopers of my army. I have yet to finish painting them, and I have also decided to alter their scheme a little. On a few troopers you'll see Shadow Grey or White. That will be covered over when I am done... I was experimenting.

I want to know if you like the wood grain hell guns, its an easy effect I may start incorporating on all of my lasguns.

Anyways, these are a bit WIP, but the Commissar is done.

I'm really pleased with the commissar, I think the hat came out much like GW's, and the sash looks pretty good too. I like the way the whole conversion turned out, hopefully when he's next to my sergeant, no one will be able to tell they're the same model!

Here they are:

Sergeant

EDIT
Sorry! I took the Commissar out because I wanted him for a competition! My mistake!

Troopers

The whole gang:

So, what do you think?

I like the wood on the weapons, and the over all scheme looks great!

those look pretty nifty. Only thing, is that you might want to add some more detail to the wood on the rifles, as it looks kind of blank at the moment. Just some tiny tiny marks in the thickest parts of that brown.

Also, there is some touching up to be done on the sergeants shoulder (flag).

But pretty nifty other then that

Thanks! I myself liked how the wood came out, I was suprised how easy it was.
The scheme is not quite done. I'll be sure to show you when it is!

You know, I was worried at first it wouldn't be fluffy for tactical response teams like Stormtroopers to be carrying wood grain weapons, but they just look too cool!

Compliments from the master himself!
Now that I have these pics, I can see all the little errors and mistakes in my work.
I'll also try that trick with the wood.

Thanks everybody! Keep 'em comin'!

By the way, that is not a Confederate Flag. It just happens to be the most well known Company Standard that people see, and immediately think of the Confederate States of America.

Let me say this,

I love the Kommisar (assuming that's what the guy with the cap is :P). Do you have a Bolt Pistol on him somewhere? It would make perfect sense to use a bolt rather than a Plasma round on your unsuspecting guardsmen cowards... ;D

Well, my sergeant has a Bolt Pistol, and you'll notice they're the same model. I wanted to differ them as much as possible, but still give each a good CC ability. The Plasma Pistol ignores AV, and so does the power sword. However, the bolt pistol doesn't do too much, nor does the chainsword, and both are very cehap. I should've done it the other way, with the Kommissar with the Power Sword and bolt pistol, and the Sergeant with the chainsword and plasma pistol.

Oh well, whats done is done

And I probably should've taken out the Kommissar ( I love that spelling) from the group shot. He's going in a Contest!

Thanks so much though! I'm glad I finally got them up!

The red looks really good. These models probably look amazing from a few feet away.
