Default Elysian Storm Troopers

Unlike the Death Korps with their Grenadier models, Forge World don't produce a model to represent Elysian Storm Troopers. Presumably we are to assume all Storm Trooper units attached to an Elysian task force are from other regiments with an abundance of elite troops, and as such, we are to represent them with the Generic Kasrkin or Storm trooper models. This is not unreasonable but the Kasrkin models, as cool as they are, just don't fit in in an Elysian army. The metal Storm Trooper models are great though (the ones without the repirators at any rate), but I just hate their crap looking Hellguns. And so I decided to try something completely different; these are the 'Heavy infantry' models available from Pig Iron productions, slightly modified and painted to represent my Storm Trooper squad.

I really love the flamers; I think they've come out great, but overall I'm very disappointed as the level of detail is nowhere near as high as that of the Elysian models. Anyway, they're done, so I thought I post them up and let you make your own mind up whether or not they look any good as Stormies. Can anyone think of a better model I could use for such a purpose?

Wow, those look nice Tom. They do really fit in with Elysians, right down to the guns. That's a real nice flamer conversion.

But the Valkyrie steals the show.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Wow! I've always liked Pig Iron miniatures, good to see you found a use for them too.

So when can we expect an Ironstorm/Ironside in your Armoured Company?

Great figures, Tom. They look very sharp and very Imperial Guard. I love the weathering on the flyer.
Thanks for sharing,
Em

I think you've made me like the pig iron heavy infantry. They look so nice how you've done them. nice job on the flamer conversion.

I don't think you ever will. I'm not really a fan of those models to be honest; they're just too massive to stand alongside Leman Russes and I don't like the position of the turrets. The Ironstorm might make a nice VDR transport of sorts, but other than that I see no place for them.

Well anyway, I wasn't expecting those sorts of responses to these models, I don't really like them much myself, but to each his own. No one can think of any alternatives though? I could stick Heavy infantry heads onto Elysian bodies I suppose. Or maybe I'll try swapping out those crap looking Storm Trooper Hellguns. Damned metal models... *Grumbles*
