Default 2 Dreads and a Drop Pod

I don't know if anyone has seen my post with my dreadnoughts on it previously but I am reposting them this time with much better pictures. I also am putting up a scratch built drop based off the way Thomas Schadle did on Minivault.com.

As always, C&C is welcome.

I am loving the weathering effects on that pod. Did you happen to use pictures of the old Appolo command modules as a reference, because that's what I'm seeing here

In my opinion your Dreads are lacking that sort of eye-popping quality. They seem to be rather uniformily dull in their colors, maybe adding a few bright yellos and things to make them stand out more? Or maybe the red is just too dark...

The Drop Pod is a really interesting design, and would I be right to assume it's your own? either way it's cool and my only complaint (again) is lack of brighter colors to help everythign stand out.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking the dreads were a little dull as well. I might paint the powerfists a yellow color to make them stand out more.

The drop pod was painted with a reference to the Apollo command module. The idea for the drop pod isn't mine. As I said it came from the site Minivault.com.

I dunno, I quite like the Dreadnoughts. I can really get on board with the extreme highlighting, but they do look a little dull. I think the application of transfers to fill the plain areas of the non-venerable Dreadnought would go a long way towards making it look more interesting without making it gaudy. Perhaps some detail work would help too, such as text on the scrolls? You might also consider purity seals and drilling out the weapon barrels.

See that hatch in the middle of it? Probably right there. Besides, its not that big of a drop to the ground, for a SM that is.

DemenTiA was right. It would look more realistic if I had made 5 doors instead of just one, but I didn't have the supplies. I will work on the dreadnoughts and making them more realistic. They actually look very nice on the tabletop but when you get really close they start to look a little less nice. Thanks for the replies everyone.

Do you have a pic with a marine next to it for scale?

There are weapons attached to it (which seems a little bizarre to me, especially given that they're missing their pistol grips, but that's besides the point) and that's a Rhino door on the side. That should give you some indication of scale.
