Default And now for something a little different ... (strange pictures inside)

Welcome, welcome, one and all. Now, I don't do very many of these topics, reasons including how slow I paint and how bad the camera tends to make my painting look a lot of the time (it's not actually the camera's fault, but how the resolution messes up sometimes when trying to rescale the picture).
However, I do consider my efforts fairly decent for how long I've been painting, so I likewise enjoy sharing my finished products when I do manage one.

Now, as a brief introduction for those unaware, this is a miniature from Warmachine - a game produced by Privateer Press. I have to say that painting this guy has been a really enjoyable experience, as many of the WM minis are excellently defined, and their production quality is years above that of GW. The specific model is a Revenger, a light warjack of the Protectorate of Menoth.

So, what do you think? Comments or critiques, or even suggestions. Also, as a note, while pinning the feet, I inflicted minor paint damage that can be seen. I am aware of these, and they will be fixed. Also, I've only applied the first coat of finish, which is glossy, so he really is that shiney right now ...

I'll try to get a few more pictures up when he's DONE done, to do a few close-ups and such for that extra detail that you can't really see.

You certainly do deserve credit my friend! That is an excellent crisp miniature you've got there . The white is perfectly smooth while the purple is deep and rich. The colors accent each other well and the metalics are done very well.

Ah, nice work.

Now get to work on the Avatar of Menoth, that'll be sweet.
What else do you have? Zealots, Exemplars, what other units?

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Excellent. The colors balance out very nicely.

@Rosetta and Tom (since you said what he said ) -
Thanks. Wasn't that simple?
No, what I actually wanted to say was that it's not actually white. It's 'ghost grey', which is essentially as close as you can get to a white while not actually being one. It's nice because it allows for real white highlights (look closely at the leftmost shoulderpad in the first picture - yeah, that's white on the tip). Also, it took me ages to pick out that color scheme, as I was dead set on using purple, but finding a nice color to go with it while holding up the overall holy thematics of the faction was a pain.

@Gearhead -
Don't have a ton right now. I picked up the starter and a couple of units I figured I'd use, but at 500 points it looks like Kreoss, a Revenger and Castigator, Kights Exemplar, a choir or two, and whatever else I feel like by the end of it. My firends and I need to pick up a few of the books to really know what we want to get into, and the LGS doesn't carry WM. Everything has to be bought online, so it's sorta slow-going.

@BM -
Again, with time. I think I'm going to take on the Crusader next, since I'm still going for the jacks before units and I probably won't ever paint my Repenter, for I do so loathe it ... Essentially, look forward to a bigger one next time ;D

Now then, off to make supper ...

Just so you know, Zealots are nasty. Attack with them and then pop their feat, makes 'em invulnerable for a turn.

Oh, I do. I'm being another one of those "I don't really want to run Zealots because everyone else does" people. I know their potential, especially with the Monolith Bearer, but I'm feeling more like playing the game thematically and taking a bunch of knights. To be fair, the few guys I'll be playing with haven't played any sort of tabletop wargame before, so I'm not going for the out-and-out nasty.

Any comments on Deliverers? I really like them, especially on Kreoss' feat turn, and have an urge to fill out a unit.
