Personally, I'd go over the yellow again, but thin down your paints just a tad more...

The first picture, Guardsman to the left, his yellow shoulderpad, that's the colour you should want all round.

Thin down your metallic paint as well, looks a tad splotchy, but otherwise... Looks great...

yeah, more thinner coats tends to look smoother

as for the yellow...pick up a pot of bubonic brown, and anywhere you want to have yellow, coat it with that first. then paint it yellow

and maybe cut out that little blue bit on top of the lasrifle...i dunno, but for some reason, it just seems to break up the model too much

It's not a yellow its a bronzed flesh for desert sand coloured camo
and my silver looks like that because the paint is to watery in some parts and to thick in others

If I were you,

1) Get an 18/0 Detail brush, as well as a 10/0 Detail brush.
2) Bubonic Brown, Your Flesh color, and some Yellow, as well as some white.
3) Continue to paint the details out of the clothes/armor.
4) Work on the small details such as the belt buckle, and buttons.
5) Go back over the helmets, try using a lighter shade of color to draw out that the surface is round. Also place some highlight lines around the neck of the helmet. Make SURE to hit the areas where the face and the helmet come together. Dont allow for sloppy areas. Use the 18/0 Detail brush to paint these tiny spots.
6) Hit the boots, and pants, again try to draw out the ripples in the clothing to show 3 dimensional depth.
7)Base the model. Use sand, and some static grass, take your time and be careful not to get this stuff on the legs/body of the mini.
8) The red Shoulder marks, use Black and draw some stripe lines to "Square of the shape of the arrow. Make it look less like a painted line, and more like a intentional stripe line.
9) Take your time, your not in a bulk speed contest. Your looking to improve your paint skills.

You asked this in the Showcase board, this should be in the PAINTING board.

Keep at it!

Start by first trimming mold lines. You could be a modern art master painter and a mold line running over the guy's earpeice or down his sleeve will just ruin the entire effect.

As others have said, yellow is tough to work with...BUT...I like where you are going, and I can say I like where it would end up with a little more attention to detail.
