Many know me because I keep posting pictures of my stuff. Here I go again.
Family picture of my Tau detachement and some infos about it. If this thread could be placed in a better place, please make it so, I'v searched and found no relevent place to post... ----- ![]() Blue Lar'Lissera Detachement (Courragous Team) ![]() Pathfinders being eyed by an Imperial field sensor. ![]() Both XV8 (one of the the Shas'el, with blue and white markings) with experimental weapons smoking. ![]() The work horse of the detachement. Carrying the battle to the ennemy. ![]() Some shy stealth suits posing for the picture. The detachement is painted Olive Drabe (Catachan green) and Desert Tan (bleached Bone) to portray their specialisation for jungle and desertic operations. Both completely opposite type of terrain, but they are equaly capable of operating for long period of time in those environements comonly found on many worlds. This detachement is composed of a standard Tau detachement (Box set). I added one XV8 and a 5 man pathfinder team, 2 of them with rail rifle. The suits benefit from 2 custom experimental weapons. The detachement is scheduled to receive more experimental equipment in the near futur as they are deploying agains a variety of opponments in many territorial skirmishs with the humans, Eldars and even Necron incursions.

This would ordinarily go in the Showcase (under "Hobby"): http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?board=19.0
I will just leave it here for a while so people see it and then move the thread over to Showcase later. Nice work, though! I really like the color scheme. My only suggestion would be to go back and touch up some of the lining on the Devilfish. A little bit goes a long way. |

Oups, sorry. Don't we have a place to post army list? I would post it and make up the army list later.
As for the devilfish, I agree, it was among my first models painted. I think I did an OK overall job on it, but it could beneficiate from my new aquired skills. It's hard to redo the linings without undoing everything. I tried thin black marker, pushpins to strach the paint in the "line", repainting the black part (made a mess)...

I've had trouble doing those lines too, both on my Hammerhead and Devilfish. I've tried toohpicks, scraping, very small brushes, but it never works. I just paint it black beforehand and do my best to not ruin it afterwards.

Nice force! The blue really makes them stand out, and they have a uniqueness that the Tau sometimes lack.

yeah, if you use a very thin pen, I forget what they are called, you can get between the cracks of Tau tank and even crisis suit armour to get smooth, even, black lines. It works well, but don't tell any Golden Deamon judges
![]() Cheers!

It's actually Enchanted Blue. The color got changed a bit in the pictures because of the color temperature ajustement and multi layers photoshopping.
