I just finished my first Forgeworld tau Sentry Drone. The color was something new for me to try. Couldn't decide on what color to paint, so, I tried this Hammertone copper with black. What do you think ?

I like it.

The only complaint i could fathom is that the plasma rifles could be picked out a bit better, just to make them stand out a bit more. When i first looked at it, I couldn't find them!

I have to agree about the guns, I didn't realise it was armed until I read the note below it. They don't stand out enough compared with the black interior.

You have it right...I need to make them stand out as the design by Forgeworld sucks...Big drone little gun...

Help me out on this...what color should I do the guns to make em jump out a bit. I fear they are so small, it will be hard to see them if I paint them florecent orange !

Pic is a bit dark too..I lightened it right up, so the color is a bit off...at least you can see them now.

Thanx for the comments...the color...lemme check...

The finish is kinda coppery looking metallic, it is not splotchy at all. Actually looks nice. I put on two coats of color, painted the black, applied the decals, two coats of gloss clear and 1 coat of dull clear and thats is how the finish shows.

ok, the actual mfr name and color on the can is: Tremclad "Hammered"

No name on the color..just says "the color of the cap is...."

I bought the paint in a hardware stored. They have "hammered" in dark grey, light grey and this copper.

Just think, when your Tau is finished painted, you can always say "my Tau has been out at the bar all night and they are Hammered" he he he....

I just wish the guns were bigger, they look out of proportion to the base.

Question: anyone ever painted Tau in black. I just primed in black a Forgeworld Piranha TX-42. I already had the interior occupants painted in my base colours. Looks like a very hot combo ! Black and Vomit brown shades....

The sentry tower looks very nice may be doing the energy glow on the weapon will set it out well.
