Hey.

Do these tanks work for you? They are meant to be splottchy and patchy and generally messy. I'm just looking at them and can't make my mind up.

A group shot:

Demolisher:

Leman Russ 1:

I can take more from different angles if you want.

Form what I see I like them a lot they have a heavy metal well used look as if they had seen alot of battles, plus the colors fit very well with the dark 40k setting

Are they for Iron Warriors or something? :-\

Anywho, they ain't bad, I like all the mud on the bottom (I can never pull that off!) but you need to paint that. But, I ain't keen on the whole drybrushing tanks idea, just my personal tastes.

To put it simply, if i was a theif, i would steal them.

Very nice effects, they look old/used.

6.5/10 which is pretty damn good. Some of the best IG tanks i have seen. Not full showcase quality, but something to be very proud of.

Peace,
Sarnas

Silk> Would it be possible to see more of the Leman Russ with a top down shot like you have for the Demolisher?

I see these as battle hardened tanks, who have gone a long time with out a cleaning. I am assuming that your done working on these, If not, perhaps some more details would enhance them.

They are washed out and there is very little (if any) tone colors from the tank's original paint (green?) I can see a large amount of wash/ink effects around the top turrets, so this was was very fluid at the time. The heavy metal look is defiantly in these tanks.

The yellow hazard markings are also a nice touch, but more related to a CAUTION sign. When in fact the whole point of a tank is DANGER in the first place, but the locations make it subtle enough to be a good detail point.

For me the black/umber wash is a bit to overpowering. If I were to continue on with these models, I would call this the Weathering stage, and now build layers of colors to the original tanks, so that they appear to be apart of a regiment. Colors marking which units, and some of the camouflaged coloring would be now done very lightly.

I like the models, in this state, but I would not call them finished.

Good work, Keep at it!

I think it's pretty sweet stuff; looks very used and abused which is, I gather, the point.

I think they look great. I'm not a fan of drybrushing on models EXCEPT for things like tanks and such. It just fits in my view of what a battle worn tank would look like.
