Default My First Tau Unit!

Heres the first Vehicle I've painted for warhammer 40k!

Ichi Squad's Devilfish!

There's japanese hatagana(sp?) markings of Ichi, which means "1" on the Access Hatches. My FW squad Shas'ui has a flag with the same marking to denote the dedicated transport for the team.

The blue Devifish you see at the background is a 2nd hand model I bought off a fellow gamer.

The drones aren't painted yet, I haven't decided what colour to paint them.

Thoughts/comments? =)

edit: OMGOSH sorry! I didn't know there was a showcase forum. =( soooowwwieee.

The devilfish itself looks great. Consider painting the drones and I'd say you're finished.

Also, expect this to get moved to Showcase really, really fast ...

But again, good stuff!

thanks for all the nice comments! I will update with more pictures with my army as it continues to grow.

Anyway, my army is called The 101st Ronin Recon. Basically, its a mechanized force, and the term ronin indicates the *samuraish* theme that I have going. Crimson red Firewarriors with squad leaders holding little flags indicating squad numbers, hammerheads with the names *Tsunami* and *Typhoon* drawn on the vehicles themselves, and so on. =)

The marking was probably either Hirigana(Hiragana?) Katakana or Kanji. I can't see the markings at the moment.

I do really like the coloring though. Would scare the heck out of me on a battlefield. Especially at night.

That is pretty impressive for a first unit, the red is brilliant!

Very nice work a great solid smooth red makes the black looks great I hope we can see more of your army the theme sounds great I can see your Ui's having katanas and wakizashis instead of just the bonding knife.

For your drones may I suggest that you paint either the inner section of the trim in red and leave the other part black and paint the guns with some red and leaving some black.

Again great work ;D

That's really beautiful, the green contrasts so well with that vibrant red in such small doses.

I guess the 101st don't have the word 'camouflage' in their vocabulary though huh? I feel bad for the Pathfinders.

"So snow, eh? Well...we're going to die. All of us."
