Default MessyArts Custom Noise marine (painted by me) GTDBTH

Grab the Devil by the Horns

Okay first of I just want to say sorry to MessyArt as I feel I didnt do his model justice, I feel my old brushes and paints (plus the fact ive not been painting for god knows how long) have made my skill fade.

Anyways back to the thread this is a Model made by Tau Onlines very own MessyArt and I painted it up in his Death Generation colours of Black with red trim and adding a little something to show its a non undivided unit (while not making it pink because MessyArt hates pink). I hope its not that bad tell me what you think guys!

Ohhh and MessyArt Suprise please dont kill me :P

(After doing this im not painting any of my Nightlords till I get new paints and brushes!)

Looking good, I especially like the flame effect on the guitar. Also could you post up the conversion work image I know you still have?

You strip the paint off again :P to get some more pics of the underlying conversion. How long did it take you to do?

i found enough time. here you go people.

How to build a Noise Marine with guitarÖ

Since I was so cruelly put up to it I might as well, I will set it out so its fairly easy to understand.

1. first you collect the body and legs you intend on using, look for spikes and insignia that suits what your after. Take the bolter support arms [open left hands] from the sprue, use the arm that would bring the guitar further from the body [at the strumming hand, the one that holds the plec] cut the hand and file slightly so that it slants out more. This helps later when attaching the guitar. Plus looks better.

2. you have the difficult decision on what make of guitar to build, I suggest researching [unless you own a nice one], choose one of the firing arms or one of the boltpistol arms [stretched out] and find a hand that you like, its hard to find a hand that looks the part.

3. the backpack. This bit is the easiest of the whole model. If you have the *new* cities of death sets, take one or two of the large round lights, either cut the light away at the very base of the roundness or cut off the support that attaches to the mounting. Remove the venty round bit on the chaos backpack and glue on the lights. Easy speakers.

4. the head. Anything that looks really metal. Mine was simple, cut off the horns from the asp champ and turn them around.

5. the guitar. The fiddliest part of the model, cut out the shape you want in thin plasticard and then fatten it out equally with GS. The hard part, if you hate fiddly bits. You need either a bloody good amount of GS skill or simply three or four various thickness wires, I used the three thinnest guitar strings and modelling/ garden wire for the fourth. GS the pickups before attaching the wires, make little grooves in the pickups and clean them up. I canít really describe how I did the head, just a sheet of plasticard with GS over the top [of the strings]. If you want to use GS for any of the strings [then first youíre an idiot, I tried that the first time, or you just havenít got any guitar strings] then roll it up V. carefully into even thickness strips, then simply attach these to the head and pickups. You could glue on the strings or just leave the GS to hold it. Make sure they are evenly spaced! I didnít particularly worry about the frets, you can paint them on.

6. build the body and legs in the desired pose [leaning back looks good] dry fit [blu tac] the left arm to work out the position best suited to the model. When you are satisfied glue it on, make sure the backpack doesnít get in the way of the guitar, donít glue it on yet. Glue on the guitar [or pin it or some other method] then work out the right arm, it needs ideally to look like its being played [although my other guitarist is just giving the bulls] or at least cradled. Glue on the arm then when glues dried get a long V. thin strip of GS to make the strap, attach to the base of the guitar and wrap around the back of the head, then attach other end to the head or opposite side of the body, you may want to glue the pieces [be very delicate]. When youíve attached the guitar and the playing hand then you can attach the backpack [just to make sure it would fit, plus makes it easier to attach the strap].

If theres anything else donít be afraid to ask!

[move][glow=black,2,500]Hope it helps[/glow][/move]
