Good conversions but you need to slow down and take your time with the painting

Your paints are think and patchy in parts thin out your paints with clean water or a mix of water and future floor wax(50/50 mix)

Use a mix of black and black ink and do the black lining in between the armor plates to give the armor some definition.

A very good attempt on the lenses again slow down small amounts of paint patience pays off

Also will some kind hearted Mod please move this to the showcase section

i have a question on your conversion, isn't it all the guns are on the right hand? how'd you make the left hand hold the gun? I'm asking cause i need to stick a pulse pistol on a left hand >.<

stupidsimon,

Nice camera! I'd kill to have a close up lense like that!

As for the paintjob, it's highly lacking. And unfortunately, you can see that even more due to your close up pictures. From a distance it looks pretty decent, but at close you can see that the paint is very thick and patchy, and was applied badly. Take more time on your painting, and water your paints down a little.

The conversion is very good, though. I myself made a conversion like this, except it was a running Firewarrior. :P

yep, mate, as has been said, thinner paint. usually about the thickness of cream is a good start for a basecoat. and several layers carefully apllied, if required (which it usually will be over a black basecoat)

as for tips with using GS. wet your tools, always. you can also sand green stuff smooth with 1200 grit sandpaper, easily available from any hardware store. it just smooths it so fine, once its painted you wouldn't guess that the surface underneath isn't plastic

also, the games workshop sculpting tool is extremely good for working with greenstuff, but you'll also want a pin and a modelling knife.. with those 3, you should be able to accomplish most things

The trouble is that I always think that the paints are thin enough when they are not :-[ how can I tell when they are thin enough?
