Default Scratch Built Baneblade UPDATE: painting touchups

well, my first attempt at truly making an entire thing out of plasticard and a tank commander guy. It is using the VDR so if something doesn't match the actual rules... heh, yea.

That's quite simply godlike. While proportions might be off here and there, it's superb, especially for a scratch-build. Did you use SCFMA templates?

heh, thanks. Didn't use SCFMA templates though, just imagination and a steady hand. ;D

Needs a much better paint job, but it is otherwise an excellent creation! Nice one, bud.

Have you heard the latest though? Games Workshop might bring out a plastic Baneblade kit some time in the middle of this year! That actually makes me angry. The people who have resin Baneblades are going to be screwed (and to a lesser extent scratch-built Baneblades). Sure you'll still have a Baneblade, but it's not going to have the same impact as it does now. When you put a Baneblade out on the table, there's a certain wow factor. But if this comes to pass, your proud declaration of 'I have a Baneblade' will be met with 'So? I've got three.'

It's not just the proposed price of fifty-odd quid that bothers me, but the fact that Forge World stuff is all so badly cast it makes anything of Forge World origin a rarity, especially super-heavy tanks. You still wouldn't see loads of Baneblades kicking about even if the resin kit was a paultry 50 because it's just so damned hard to work with that most kids would give up. This proposal snatches away the Baneblade's exclusivity and just casts it among the likes of Land Raiders and Monoliths. If Games Workshop do this then every man and his dog will have one.

I'll have to content myself with getting a Shadow Sword or something...unless Forge World start producing upgrade kits for the plastic chassis and saturate the game with Super Heavies. I really hope this doesn't happen. >

Just make sure it makes that nice heavy "CLUNK" noise when it hits the table Tom, like all those marine players with metal dreadnoughts. At least that way they'll know it's the original baneblade.

But yeah, I do see you concern
