Default Ultramarine (DA Model)

So you know, this is only in here because I won't add anything to it - it's served it's purpose.

I painted this about 5 months ago, give or take, as a little test to see if I could do robes - the only reason I didn't paint him up as DA is because I'd lost my paint :P
He's also the test for my magnet sizes, but that's in another thread (you may be able to see the magnets on the base)

I'm aware I didn't highlight the blue or gold - I tried with the gold, but wasn't happy with it, and I wasn't concentrating on the blue.
The actual work was in the robes (so comment on those :P), which I was fairly happy with

Lighting aint brill, sorry.

The second was with a magnet blu-tacked on - perhaps you can see some of the poorly done highlighting a little better :P

Looks good but IMHO, still WIP. Slash some highlights on the power armor, and itīll look as nice as that robe : D

To be honest when the rest of my DA stuff arrives I dare say I'll strip it and paint in a real colour :P
It was really just a test to see what I could do robe-wise.

Heh, the magnets aren't attached. The photo was taken for size comparison, but the lighting was better - it's just blu tac at the moment :P

I like it! The paint is really quite clean, and I really like the robe. As said before, the power armor could use highlighting, but I know you said this was only to test the robe. So go on, strip it, and paint it and show us the real result!

Patience, young padawan
This will recieve the same treatment as all my other new DA models -
I'm going to magnetise him at the arms and backpack (the others get done at the head and waist too), before anyone gets painted

I'm almost tempted to try a little highlighting now - it's not something I've ever focussed on before tbh - I'm trying (when I get time to paint, which is rare nowadays) to up my game, so I suppose this has to be the next step

impressive!!! the robes make him have an ancient feel so not highlighting the armor as much would make him seem kinda rustic.
