Default My Eldar, including Farseer on a Jetbike

Here a a few of my Eldar:

My jetbike mounted farseer conversion:

I just started collecting two weeks ago and these are some of the first figures I've finished. The flash washed out the colors on some of the photos. Tips and praise are appreciated.

Okay...

1.) This should have been posted in the Showcase board.

2.) You can post all of your pictures in one post, multiple posting is treated as a crime here, so in future be careful!

3.) Well done with the Eldar, they look very nice.

You didn't have to post more then once here.

You're allowed more then one attachment in a post, and you should've used a hosting site, such as photobucket.

www.photobucket.com

Mods might want to clean this up.

I have one question, and the answer will solve any problems:

Are you patient enough?

Are you wanting to get the job done quickly?

It may be the phots but the models (especially the ranger) look like they could do with alot more crispness to them.

Element,

First off, for having your figures for two weeks, and you have several pieces painted. Your devotion to the game is great, however your paint is the signature of your army.

The game will always be there, and I think Nightmare is asking if your in some sort of hurry to finish your models, in a short period of time.

Half of the fun of Warhammer 40K is the modeling aspect.

I would only suggest 4 things:

1) tackle only one model (figure) and work with it for 3 days per man, and any vehicle should be 6 days to 2 weeks to work on.

2) Gather a few key tools, such as, Jewelers files, a few E-xacto Hobby knives, and some sand paper, or ladys nail files to work with plastic models. And if you need to work on metal minis (many Eldar figures are metal) use some soft steel wool to help clean up the mini before you prime it.

3) Once you have you models cleaned, prime them either white or black, personally I use white primer. Use soft and light passes, allow the pass to dry, then hit it again. Its ok if the plastic shows through, but work with full even coats.

4) Painting, your colors are good, your technique to paint straight lines will improve over time, but for now, look to find some blue painters tape, used to mask off rooms, for painting walls in your home. 1 roll, of the thinnest stuff will help you to make cut lines, you can also cut out shapes with the tape then apply them to the model, then paint over the masked areas (such as the black on the Jetbike)

Work slow, and deliberatly, plan each stage out, and take your time, remember your mistakes.

Everyone must start at some place, and you already have thought about the colors, and have given some effort to the method, now its time to focus you attention to details, and enjoy the modeling hobby/aspect of this great game!

Here is a nice clean tutorial of the planning process for some Eldar Guardians.

Your off to a great start!

I like the Tau-esque paint scheme.

Nice models.

you missed the pistol on the far seer

looks pretty good.
Try taking pictures without flash under sun light or any other bright light.
Ranger looks nice except the colour looks little white all over or little light. This could be because of the flash.
