Default Thy Big Bretonnian Thread (Ye olde Knights o' thy winter realm)

Loyal members of the Tau Online Forum,

Be it known to you that the geek, Sir Komrad le Dork take'd a vow of painting the army of Bretonnia. Should he fail, let his bones be cast upon the sea.

But lo! His geekiness knows no bound. For thou has choosen a winter theme for thy loyal Knights in 'bling-bling' armour.

Alas, thou has not chance upon a time to paint ye Knights yet. Fear not, for thou has begun 'undercoating' thy loyal subjects.

It is unmeet that I ask thy loyal members of the Tau Online Forum to seek patience at this time of woe.

(1000 years later..)

So I finally slog through countless hours just to paint one. The knights are really detailed and blending the tabards are a paint. I'm planning to make paint each knight with their different heraldry. I'm not sure if I can survive the first wave of painting, completing these two were a tough challenge.

Here's the Gallant and the Musician.

Notice I've been lazy and used transfer sheets for the heraldry. Is there some way to remove the shinyness of the transfer?

Very Nice paint job you've done their! I love! Nice and clean, no blend lines that stand out...all in all some very very nice models.

Wow they look great. To remove the shinyness you could paint over the using the transfers as a template.

I've always loved Bretonnians, the first models I've ever painted were old Bretonnian knights.

Your work is excellent as always! Flawless

Also, with the transfers, if you're really careful you can just scratch off the excess shiny areas with a knife while it's still wet. Great work as usual by the way.

Cheers everyone.

Here's two more the Standard Bearer and another Knight.

This guy is tough. I had a hard time figuring out the colors for him, but eventually went with dark blue.

And here's a knight.

So here's the first row. It's quite a challenge painting these Bretonnians, wonder if I can survive another regiment.

The work is great, but I wonder ... does anyone else have a problem with the musician having a horn (held near his face, as if ready to use it), but wearing a full helm, which clearly gives him no way to actually play said insturment. I understand he's supposed to be all 'knighty', but still.

Again, great stuff. Hope your dedication holds true.
