Default Space Marine Commander Luthien

This is my space marine commander I've converted and just painted. I need to do something to fix the highlights on the armor. Maybe a lighter grey I dunno. The pictures aren't the best and the detail on the face and hair is alot better in person. I need some suggestions on how to complete this guy.

Well, first, his right arm is too long. I suggest making the chop much closer to his elbow, then attaching the Thunder Hammer.
Also, I'd suggest raising his arm a bit, so he looks more like he's about to strike with the thunder hammer.
Finally, I don't like topknots. Especially Abbadon's. But to each his own...

Heya,

I like the Paintjob, but I have to agree with Abael,

1.) I'm sorry but Abaddon's head for a Loyalist Commander seems wrong to me, I don't know why but personally I don't like it.

2.) The arm with the Thunder Hammer is to long, It would have looked cooler if he had it resting on his Shoulder, like he was looking over the battlefield.

I have to agree the arm look to long and give the a ape-like look

The hammer resting on the shoulder would look great and give him a gruff LARGE AND IN CHARGE LOOK
the top knot just doesn't fit I think

thanks for the comments.

I'll start with what seems to be the main criticism: the thunder hammer arm. When I was making it it looked in proportion with the left arm. I think it's just the angle of the picture because I measured it to see how far off it was and it is longer..by about 2/25 of an inch.

I wanted to use the abaddon head for several reasons. It's been in my bitz box forever and I really wanted to use it on something. Second, I just wanted to paint some hair. :P I thought about cutting the big spikes off the skull on the topknot but I wasn't confident enough in my greenstuff ability.

About the pose I wanted him to be in an action pose with thunder hammer in both hands swinging down but I couldn't get the look right. I didn't want to have him standing there looking boring like an IG commmander, so thunder hammer slung over the shoulder wasn't something I would have wanted to do.

Aynway, I pretty happy with it except for the highlighting on the armor which I'll have to touch up and add finer highlights of a lighter color maybe.

Well the skulls on the topknot fit in with the skulls on the armor the highlights are darn good are they are unless you going for a sharper look

I the head looks fine!
Actually, the arm is a bit long, so you could shorten it down. Also, it would look cool if he is jolding it two handed but if it is to hard to repose it is ok.

I think it looks pretty coll but would benifit from the coils on the plasma pistol being painted in blue with white highlights.
