Default Eldar colorscheme - test model. Thoughts?

Hey folks,

With the new army box coming out this month, I'm chomping at the bit to start painting up some Eldar. I wanted to move away from using any of the traditional craftworld colors, however.

I was leaning towards something in purple. Basically this would be the major color for all the things like guardians, war walkers, jetbikes, falcon tanks etc The aspect warriors will still be done in their respective official colors.

What do you think of this test model? Thoughts? I started out liking the purple idea but something about this model doesn't seem right....I think I want the yellow part (helmet, in this case, although it will be used for further accents on vehicles) to start out a bit darker, almost a brownish shade working up to a brighter yellow. Hard color to get right over black I gotta say note that since I have to do quite a few guardians and want to finish the army this year, the guardians won't have many gems. I'll be reserving those for aspect warriors, vehicles and leaders etc.

Some of the feedback on my own site seems to be that the helmet should be a "creamier" yellow or bone, and the gun color isn't right and should also be bone perhaps.

Here's a new shot of that Eldar, hastily re-painted with some of the feedback I've been getting in mind. Still not sure about that yellow but I think the bone colored gun and darker faceplate work much better.

I liked the other better, as it has more variety in color

I prefer the first one by FAR. I mean besides it just looking better, it is far mor varied in colors.

Fist one all the way. Although i have been a big fan of major color differences, like black and white, or purple and bright yellow. Stick with number one!

Actually I just cranked out a version in green. To be honest I think this one 's my favorite so far - the yellow just seemed too strong a contrast and jarring to me. So I think maybe purple, green and bone...by the way, I realize my gems need some work Maybe the gems should be yellow (amber).

Do you like this one?

Id say go with the last one, and keep the green gems, ties the model in, finishing off the splendid paintjob.

I find that more then3 or 4 colors (depending on the size of model) aint workable on a RaF model, but should be kept for the more ornate models.
