pretty nice paintjop there, death's

face

can i add some suggestions?? (i will take you silence as a yes :P).

firstly, when painting robes: your darkest colour (ie the colour you put on first) should

only be visible in the very deepest recesses. here, it looks more like you've only

added highlights to the raised ridges...you need to build colour a little more. on all

the bone areas, i'd suggest putting a thin wash of maybe bestial brown over them,

and highlighting once with bone, then once with a mix of white and bone. for the gold,

i'd say put an ink of flesh wash over it to add depth. and for the leather, either

highlight it a little, or paint it a lighter brown, and use that brown as a wash

Thanx Bloodied fangs. as to

the robe comment, ill try it out. I generally just paint the regular color then highlight

the the high areas, like what i did with the Warlock. I know i can paint better than

this, its just im limited to just a basic palet of colors. i only have 18 paints, in

various conditions. heres what i have (that i can remember off the top of my head):

Scorpian Green, Goblin Green, Snot Green, Blood Red, Scab Red, Bleached Bone, Shadow

Grey, Space Wolves Grey, Skull White, Enchanted blue, another blue (i cant remember its

name, but they use it for Dire Avengers), Dwarf Flesh, Elf Flesh, Chainmail, and

Burnished Gold. I borrowd the yellow off my friend who owns the model. I painted this

sust over a year ago, if my memory serves me right. Im working on a Farseer with the same

color scheme. I have it hlaf painted at the moment (I spent about 2 hrs on it last night)

so when i get it finished i'll get it up in the galleries.

as to my

avatar, i looked up Ultramarines on Google Image search. Its how i get most of my

avatars, since their already the basic avatar size :P

seriously, if you have enough paints to

get what you've already done, then you have a pallette large enough to do this mini

to a fairly high quality. the highlights tend not to depend on whta your paint range is,

but how many layers you mix up to use for highlights...and my reccommendation is at least

6, probably more on robes. so, the 2 colours used for your robes are: scorpion green and

yellow?? seriously, you have the paints...just mix highlights and work them up very

gradually

Its Snot Green highlighted with the yellow (last

color). I started off with snot green, then just did several layers mixed with scorpian

green, prgessing all the way up to the last layer, which had yellow added to it. I just

dont like to take TOO much time on them, but i will definately work on my skills on my

farseer. After thinking about what you said, and then looking at what I had done so far

on him, i knew that if i wanted him to look better, i have to start thinking about these

things. give me a week or two and i should have him done.
