Well a little mini project to see if i liked painting deathwing... and I do! Looking forward to starting the next 4 in the near future!

Fav bits include the freehand icons, yes they're painted! And the stone crux on his shoulder. Also the greenstuff tabard was a minor victory as well.

Shockingly BRILLIANT Gareth.

The freehand icons are ferfect, neat. The Greenstuff work looks like it was off a mould, very clean and well made (compliment, not accusation) . I love the eyes, nice bit of blending there. Hilighting/blending in general is excellent and you pulled off the colour, which in mt experience is a difficult one to do well.

Great job and keep it up.

Very impressive mate.
I've always had a love of the Deathwing myself, and this models is exactly why. It simply oozes power, and strength, and has a massive presence.

The painting is nearly flawless, with perfect blending throughout the entire model, with lovely work on the eyes/lenses, and incredible freehand detail.

Very well done mate, can't wait to see the other four and accompanying Land Raider

Nice job. I particularly like the tabard. It's very neat and has a great style to it. I like how it isn't very long, and ends at knee level.

Cool pose and that stone Crux Terminatus looks great!

Can't wait to see more of them.

Also that's a nice lookin' base.

Wow, that is an awsome model Gareth! The white tones are a very difficult scheme to pull off, but you did it without a fault. ;D

And you painted those icons? Awsome work! They fit very naturally on the model; you must have quite a steady hand. :P I agree with you as well on the shoulder-icon, it looks very striking and impressive.

My only advice may be to add one more highlight to the rocks and gravel of the base. Just slightly off white and along the most prominent edges.

The eyes and the optics look splendid, and the moodels colour itself looks great.

Can't want to see the whole unit...

[The Orange]

It looks great, but you need a broken knife symbol. Adding a dagger would be a nice touch, and if your so good with free hand symbols ( The Orange is envious), maybe you should try to get some on the cloak.

The Orange is right about the DW symbol is does need a break in it.

Onto the painting, the bone is very well done, such a difficult colour to paint smoothly but you pulled it off really well. The marble effect crux is great to very nicely done.
The tabard is good but I can't help feeling it needs a little more detail to it. One little extra thing that I think would set the mini off would be using NMM on the metals you certainly have the talent for it, I know not everyone is a fan of it but IMO it would look good.

Can't wait to see the rest.
