Default First comission work: Dwarf Lord

Well, after some time painting, at last I got my first contract (although from a friend ). He asked for a converted and painted dwarf lord with shield bearers, and here it is, let me see what you think about him:

Here is a little riddle for those of you curious enough (or very bored). What is the original miniature from the warhammer dwarfs range used to make this conversion? (the bearers and shield are the original ones from the Alrik Ranulffson miniature). Well, see ya.

Paint job is terrific! I would rebase them though with a little larger base and some deatail on the base, or leave it for the guy to do. Otherwise it is some top-notch work! ;D

Very nice painting as asual from you. Great work, I believe your friend will be happy with this one.

As from where the Dwarf conversion comes from, I can't really tell, I swear I have seen that kind of model before.

Kalten,

Again another fantastic model created from your hands.

This is your first commission work then. Can you tell me how long did you spend on the whole model; in hours. I have found that most people who venture into commission work spend an absolute age on the first commission model they do; just wondered if the same happened here.

I bash out the odd occasional model/character or even a unit for friends and family friends, but I have never charged anything. I am going to paint up a 750 point army for my son's friend and I wont charge him; obviously he will pay me something for the paints I use but that will be it.

I know it is a good way to make money, if the artist is good at painting. Looking at this first commission model I can see a Rosy future, with lots of money coming in your direction. Don't forget to start up your portfolio, it wont be long before you spread out and build up a website to run from.

Best of luck in your new venture, and again another fantastic model.
