The gnobler scurried off
Ollie you do know the gnoblar self ignited right?

Iangill opened his eyes.
What a fool that Tyrant was thinking to taunt him by sending orc woman as if he still felt the needs of the flesh. Still to bad they weren't humans that would serve him, to expand the Changers of Fire. He would have to rely on the wonderfully weak-willed gnoblars.
With his enhanced senses Iangill could see the clouds of fine dust, the remains of the orcs after he had drained them of life completely in preparation of his next step.
Iangill Closed his eyes.

And opened them again, finding himself in one of the many shanty towns which had sprung up around the Skullcraker tribe.
The Smell and noise was almost unbearable to his huge ears and nose. Making sure his hat, cap or whatever it was still hid his ears and scalp he sent out a mental call to his "cultists" to gather at the fire.
With the amount of gnoblars he had gathered in the arena pits he was confident he could take the local "Lord" and his manbiters and indoctrinate them. After that the rest of the shanty will be next and then the next. After that? The 'Torches'. What would the Ogres do when they realised they had no more gnoblars, no more cooks. Yes the Ogres don't realise how much they depend on their diminutive greenskins. They won't see it coming, seeing gnoblars only when they need them. It would cause chaos, and chaos would come. Infighting! Yes the Tyrant would pay for taking him captive and stopping his master plan. Tzeentch would be pleased at his now plan and its complexity.
Cackling as only a Gnoblar can he led the charge against the gnoblar enforcers. The mystic runes on his scalp and that of his followers ablaze.

The Goreseeker paced around his bleak prison cell, unable to conceal his fury any more. His rage of inaction had only just subsided, when a new anger arose in him; silence had fallen over the Ogre encampment, a maddening void of sound that drove the favoured of Khorne insane. The arena, once a loud cacophony of bloodshed, violence, and hatred, had fallen silent due to an unscheduled intermission. The constant scent of pulsing blood, the sound of countless hearts beating in excitement and fear, the absence of it all snapped what little sanity the daemon had left.

The Goreseeker’s initial worry in this tournament had been maintaining his hold on the physical realm; so far from the Wastes, the daemon’s own physiology was his greatest weakness…perhaps even his only weakness. A constant supply of blood and gore, acquired from eager fans or gullible Gnoblars, helped the Daemon maintain his strength. As a courtesy of his primitive host, the Goreseeker was also supplied with bloody hunks of meat, “spiced” with Warpstone, by the Tribe’s butchers. Fuelled by blood and the essence of Chaos, the Khorne Daemon was as strong as when he first materialized. But this boon of strength drove him into an even greater rage; he had a surplus of power, and yet was not given reign to use it!

At first, he had been able to keep some semblance of patience; the musings of the mortal servant of Chaos were a display of perverse cruelty, and seeing the pain inflicted by the baleful fires of the Gods on the Gnoblar “cast” amused the Goreseeker. He also spent hours observing his fellow gladiators, imagining the horrible ways in which he would end their lives. The Dwarf was his most desirable foe, for the stunted foe seemed a lone bastion of defense against the forces of Darkness. He would suffer immensely, the daemon decided; the insidious runes on his blade glowed with a malicious energy, as if agreeing with the Goreseeker’s plan. After humiliating the proud warrior, he would incinerate the Dwarf’s beard, leaving the Dwarf embarrassed and ashamed before his life was ended. The thick skull of the Dwarf would form an excellent base for a pyramid of skulls, and the Royal Blood of the Dwarfen thane would be a decadent luxury.

The Dark Elf, a surprising entry given their distance from the elf’s homelands, seemed an anti-thesis to the daemon. Where the Goreseeker was a force of fiery rage, the elf seemed a statue of icy temperance. Where the Goreseeker slaughtered with mighty strength, the elf utilized speed to his advantage. Where the daemon ended battles quickly, eager to find a new opponent, the elf toyed with his foes like a cat. By Khorne’s mighty roar, even their weapons were opposites of one another! He would still like to kill the elf, for he also had a reptilian mount, whose body ended in a thick skull full of fangs. While not the largest beast he had slaughtered, it was still a skull the Goreseeker could present to Khorne.

The mysterious goblin, which had yet to fight, was an oddity to the daemon. He had never known Goblins to be brave, let alone brave enough to enter a battle alone. When dealing with Greenskins, this meant that the Goblin either possessed a mighty power, or a conniving scheme. The goblin would die quickly, hewn in two before it had time to register a squeak.

As for the mortal servant of Chaos, the Goreseeker longed to face him most of all. The armoured mortal wore the colours and symbols of Tzeentch, and so his skull would be a mighty offering to Khorne. He had many horrors prepared for this fool, who claimed to be a follower of the Gods. The daemon vowed that, before his end, the man would come to know that the daemons are the lone true followers of the Gods.

………

Restless, the Goreseeker could take it no longer. The camp had been all but emptied of its Ogre inhabitants, who had chased the fallen Brettonian Knight’s steed out of the arena. Brettonian horseflesh was a delicacy, and the tribe flew into a frenzy when such a meal attempted to escape. With the tribe on the hunt, the spectators of the various races were left alone…and unguarded. Deeming that he deserved a celebration, the Goreseeker removed an object from his armor. Unfolding a piece of cloth, he removed a brazen skull engraved with the Rune of Khorne. The skull had belonged to a man of the Empire, an engineer who had been around smoke and flame, explosions and death all his life. When his life had been ended, the Goreseeker could think of no more fitting tribute than to turn the man into a weapon like the ones he had devoted his life to.

Balancing the skull on the bars of his cell, the Goreseeker dribbled a droplet of blood onto the holy symbol of Khorne. Glowing brightly, the skull exploded with a concentrated blast of warp energy. The gate was obliterated, opening the outer world to the Goreseeker’s wrath. Howling with glee, the daemon retrieved his sword. “Just a few hours,” the daemon muttered to his cellmates, not really caring if they heard. Now his slaughter would truly begin, and the Ogre hosts would return to a lovely feast…and a house gift of a mountain of skulls.

Stronginthearm woke as a mighty blast shook his cell, indeed, the whole prison, and heard the roar of the Goreseeker. He strapped on his armour, swept up his axe and stuck out at the door of the cell breaking it open again. He knew his height would make this a difficult chase, but as always, his Dwarven resolve ment that it would be done.

He set off after the Goreseeker. That vile feind would not be allowed to roam free for much longer, and his head would make a fine trophy...

Gurunk looked at all the chaos and madness that was going on around him. “Time I sort out this mess myself” he bellowed as he picked up his great weapon and walked down his arena to face a hoard of chaos cultist running towards him. His great weapon swung in arcs and battered dozens of cultists in each sweep. After a good 30 seconds of swinging all that was left was Ilangill stood defiant. “You made a big mistake for doing that!” challenged Gurunk. He thrust his great weapon which the chaos champion tries to block but failed as it felt like he was getting hit by a steam tank. Knocked out cold Gurunk dragged him back to the cells.

As he got there the dwarf thane burst out of the door and eyed up the Goreseeker. Seeing this Gurunk shouted stop and brandished his weapon yet again. The Goreseeker stood down, knowing when he was about to face a much more powerful opponent. The thane though charged but was simply smashed into the stone wall of his cell and knocked unconscious. “Throw him to the pit and let him rot.” Blasted out Gurunk to a nearby irongut. The thane was dropped into a pit and the only entrance sealed off.

He woke up to find himself in the pitch black with only the feint glow of his runes lighting. A movement was heard far away. All the thane could hear was a boing, thump, boing. He knew what it was, a night goblin. Raising up his axe and shield he waited until it came near, the squig and night goblin bounced straight into and started their attack. It was fast and furious the goblin hit and hit but could not breach the dwarves armour. The dwarf swung back hard and bit deep into the night goblin sending it flying into the wall with its head rolling around the dwarf’s feet. The squig though kept on bouncing and lept right on top of the dwarf, squishing him but not killing him. Feeling his leg broken he dwarf came to see the squig sat still on top of him even though he was just full of energy just now. Looking down at his hands he could see the axe lodged deep into the squig’s body.Feeling exhausted he looked up into the darkness and closed his eyes.

Burleigh lay battered and bleeding on the floor, his victory had cost him greatly, he had little strength to continue. His leg would heal in short order, as would his fortitude, he was a Hardy Dwarf and this was not his first Squig Hunt. The attack from the Ogre had sent him reeling however, and he bore a great grudge againt the monster for interupting his personal quest against the Goreseeker.

It would be remembered.

The Goreseeker lay in his cell, a seething hatred brewing within. While he had enjoyed his slaughter, it had ended prematurely. The day had started so well, with many of the Brettonian Knight's loyal retainers and courtesans still in the camp...Brettonians had such a lovely death scream. However, he was forced to rush his work, for that foolish dwarf had followed him. By Khorne's endless rage, he would see that dwarf dead yet!

Even worse, the Tyrant of the tribe had returned with his kin from the hunt, cleaning his teeth with a toothpick/lance. Furious that the daemon had taken it upon himself to do some extracurricular killing, the Tyrant brandished his mighty mace at the crimson fiend. The Goreseeker longed to kill the corpulant thing, to slice through the beast's fat neck and claim it's thick skull, but his keen sight picked out the smudged runes on the Ogre's weapon. They were runes of banishment, clearly not Ogre handiwork. The Goreseeker would not let his slaughter be abruptly ended by a lucky strike. He returned to his cell, eagerly awaiting the next round. Promising terrible war crimes in the name of Khorne, he begged his patron to grant him the dwarf as an opponent...he would show that stunted fool the true meaning of pain, for daring to try and stop the slaughter.

OOC: It's cool if opponents are being randomly determined, but if not, I want a piece of Jayne's Dwarf!

I have returned.

The air around the arena was growing thin, people has started leaving the arena believing that the fights were called off. The people left the arena in there droves, the chanting crowds slowly left when they heard a great roar. Wondering what had happened they started to trickle in again, one by one they sat to watch a great fight. In the centre of the arena stood the Ogre Tyrant, Gurunk Stonetooth, wrestling a giant to the ground. As punches and kicks were swung on both sides the crowds cheered and soon the arena was back to its old grand self. After a few minutes of furious grappling the giant landed with a great crash onto the sands of the arena floor. Gurunk stood up with bloodied fists and shouted “This is just a taste of what is to come in this arena. Now take your seats and watch the next fight. Also we will be feasting today lads!” In response a large bunch of ogres started shouting and cheering. The tyrant grabbed his prize and dragged it into the pits below.

“Today after a long time here is the start of the semi-finals! First up we have a champion sent from Khorne himself, The Goreseeker!” not even finishing the last syllable a massive roar went around the crowd. “Next his opponent comes from the chaos wastes and his supporting god Tzeentch! This fight will be one to remember folks as the two gods they both represent are at wits end of each other!” Now the crowd went into a true frenzy and started cheering and shouting for each champion. A small riot erupted between the fans but a small bodyguard of ogres appeared and quelled the fledgling riot.

The rusty gates opened and out strode a figure in dark blue lacquered armour who said nothing except clicked his fingers. That instant the sound of the click finished, a pool of blood appeared on the other side of the arena. Forming from this pool appeared The Goreseeker; he spotted the champion of Tzeentch and screamed for his skull to be plucked from his spine. As the daemon ran towards Ilangill he stretched out his palm and lit a small flame and willed it into a skull. The winds of magic were silent and his spell failed with just a spark for his efforts, with a step forward he pulled up his shield and ran at the Goreseeker.

He saw what was coming and stuck pre-emptively but the creature far outmatched his martial skill and blocked most of the blows except for one as he cut deep into the beast’s side. Feeling the pain the Goreseeker replied in pure rage, blow upon blow broke through the Champions blocks and cut deeply until Ilangill the champion of Tzeentch was no more. Showing his prey to have been killed the Goreseeker grabbed the champions head and ripped it from his spine and set fire to it. Feeling the fight had finally finished the Goreseeker went to his cell.
[hr]

Lub-Dub
The roar of the crowd still rang, reaching a fever pitch as the combatants neared each other. Within an instant the weapons of two mighty champions clashed, sparks flying as hell-forged steel crossed with a blade literally formed from the essence of hell itself.

Lub-Dub
The azure champion, clad in a mighty suit of armor, struck a telling blow first. His sword left a deep gash in his opponent's side, a wound that bled fire and ichor. However, the champion had over-extended himself, trying to land a deathblow on his more-capable opponent. With unearthly speed, this weakness was exploited...

Lub Dub
With a flurry of strikes, the Sapphire knight was systematically disabled. His shield was sent flying with a sneer of contempt and a backhand slash. When the champion attempted a pitiful last strike, his hand was severed and his blazing blade clattered to the ground and extinguished. The Champion could do little more than gaze at his opponent, a defiant glare burning through the visor of his helmet; his opponent, savouring the moment, lifted his blade high into the air.

Lub....

.........................................

The Goreseeker returned to his cell, flush with victory. In the name of almighty Khorne, he had shown the pitiful mortals what true power was. The blood of Ilangill, loyal servant to the cowardly Tzeentch, coated his warp-flesh and his armor, and nurtured his blade. Only one more fight, and then he would be let loose to slaughter again. He pitied neither of his opponents, but studied both searching for the best way to murder them.

The Dwarf was sitting (or he could have been standing...it was difficult to tell, given his stunted figure) sombre in his cell, brooding of the ancient grudges binding him and his opponent. He murmered an ancient prayer, in the gutteral language of his kin, and the runes on his steel shown brightly. The dwarf would make a fine victim for the final fight, with a thick neck and an all-encompassing suit of armor protecting him from a decapitating swing (that and a lack of height). However, the dwarf's pride would be his downfall in the end; his loyalty to the ancient oaths of his people, and his love of his full, greying beard, would see him dead.

As for the Elf, he did naught but order the helpless Gnoblars around. As like the rest of his kin, the Elf lived to dominate all other life. The Goreseeker hated the Elves, weak little creatures with swan-like necks; decapitating them had no sport in it at all. However, this elf had something different about him. The Daemon saw a fire in his icy gaze, a determination to survive and overcome all others. However, the Goreseeker would not be beaten in a battle of wills; this Elf was a mere child compared to a Daemon, and was only mildly disgruntled compared to the endless wrath of the servant of Khorne.

Slouching back in his cell, the crimson Daemon let the insanity of silence wash over him once more. He began to welcome the peace, letting it fuel his rage moreso. Still, he wanted to see the final fight begin soon....wanted to learn the name of his next victim.....wanted to gain the freedom to slaughter all of his primitive hosts. He would find that Tyrant in the end, and hand-deliver his skull to Khorne.

[OOC] Hey Ollie, is the next fight coming soon?

Burleigh sat in his cell, thinking deeply as Dwarves are wont to do. He had heard the thunderous roars of the Goreseeker and the audience above. He knew that the beast would come and try to take his head soon, but he was unafraid, he had honed this armour of his to perfection, it was almost impenetrable. It was tried and tested, he had worn it for centuries and had finally broken it in mear weeks before he came here.

He knew that one of the Chaos beasts has been slain, leaving only one other, that loud mouthed salivating Goreseeker, whom he would delight (as much as Dwarves delight in anything) in ending its pitiful existence. And of course, there was that Elf. Well, there was ALWAYS Vengeance to be sought against an Elf, wasn't there...
