In the early days of the Imperium, the Great Crusade brought countless star sectors into its fold, the great Legions bringing the Emperor's Light to even the darkest parts of the galaxy. However, with the onset of the Horus Heresy, the Imperium lost much of what they gained when they were forced to focus their efforts inward. One such area of space known as the Iron Stars is one of those sectors lost to the Imperium in the great Heresy. Located just beyond the Ultima Segmentum, and south of the Ghost Stars lies a group of stars that hasn't seen the light of the Imperium for almost 10,000 years. For millennia, the stars remained quiet, never threatening the bordering colonies and few civilized worlds that stand sentinel before an ever-present blackness.
However, in mid-.M41, the Iron Stars awoke, and great terror poured forth from it's quiet void. The ensuing wars were expunged from Imperial records. What little that is know is that during the 26th Founding, a chapter of Space Marines were created from the Raven Guard, named the Shadowguard. They were tasked with standing watch over the mysterious Iron Stars, lest those dark portents return. With a battlegroup of 1000 strong astartes, the Chapter Master of the Shadowguard entered the Iron Stars, never to be seen in person for centuries. It is now 007.M42. Reports from the Shadowguard over the years have shown only that their numbers have been steadily decreasing, despite a regular neophyte intake. A Mechanicus task group was sent to investigate, bringing along a small fleet with support from the 42nd Dkaran Rangers. The fleet left the bordering fortress world Dkara Primus, and in a matter of weeks, astropaths for sixteen sectors were flooded with cries from the warp, originating from deep within the Iron Stars. It was a message from the combined Astropathic forces in the task group. It called for immediate support in the form of every available astartes chapter in the area. Ordo Xenos forces headed to several Chapter Fortresses in the surrounding areas, as well as active battles against other enemies of the Imperium, ordering at least one company's force from each one they could reach. At the same time, Imperial Guard forces in the surrounding areas were called up to the bordering worlds of the Iron Stars, and a grand fleet was called in to help keep the borders secured. Meanwhile, those elements from several Astartes Chapters would arrive at Dkara Primus, in orbit around the Star Fortress Ironback. They have been ordered to muster around the space fortress, for soon the call will go out to enter the Iron Stars actual, to face a threat unknown to the majority of the Imperium for millennia. [hr] Welcome to the greatest fight since the 13th Black Crusade. It is a tale that will be told for generations for the Astartes that took part, but it will most likely be expunged from imperial records forever. You are the leader of a task force sent by a chapter of Space Marines. DiY chapters would be preferable, as this won't screw with their actual fluff much, but if you HAVE to play as the space wolves for some reason, I probably won't stop you. You have command of about a company, plus any support units you decide your chapter could have spared. Things I need are as follows: Chapter: Background: Gene Seed: Task-Force Commander: Unit Disposition: Below is an example of what I'm looking for: Chapter: Shadowguard 3rd Company Background: A recently founded chapter, the Shadowguard were created to defend the Imperium against the Iron Stars. What little is known about them includes their lack of heavy fighting vehicles, preferring covert operations and lighting raid tactics. They are most famous for their tendency to remain behind enemy lines for 90% of their lives. Recent years has seen the loss of the majority of their full astartes, and have left them at only 500 marines. They have responded by forming five companies of scouts to compensate. Gene Seed: Raven Guard Task-Force Commander: Captain Corvaal of the Third Company Unit Disposition: -Captain Corvaal's Hawk Guard squad(vanguard vets) -Chaplain Tervus -6 Tactical Squads -10 Scout Squads(Four Rapid-Reaction Teams, six Forward Scouting Parties) -2 Assault Squads -2 Devastator Squads -Two Dreadnoughts -Thunderhawk Transports and Land Speeder Storms for the Rapid Reaction Teams.

Since my Chapter does not typically fight in Company strength, I have instead opted to bring along three Squads, with a shitload of heavy support. Most of the vehicles listed are 'uncrewed', but can be manned by Chapter Serfs as and when required.
Chapter: Supernovas Background: http://forums.tauonline.org/index.ph...c,82940.0.html Gene Seed: Ultramarine (Mutated - stable mutation) Task-Force Commander: Sergeant Qyoon Unit Disposition: Assault Elements:
Support Elements: Note - support vehicles uncrewed unless stated otherwise. 3x Thunderhawk Gunships (crewed). 2x Thunderhawk Transports (crewed). Orbital Landers (crewed). 1x Vindicator. 10x Space Marine Bikes. 6x Land Speeders (2 standard, 1 Tornado, 1 Typhoon, 2 Tempests) 2x Predators - modular assembly possible. 1x Crematoria Assault Tank. 3x Whirlwinds. 4x Rhinos. 4x Razorbacks. 1x Damocles. Miscellanious Tarantulas & equivalent. The Iron Stars like upon the edge of the Waye of Ghosts. It is the duty of the 8th to travel this Waye, and they do so with relish - the Iron Stars are said to hold many secrets of Technoarcana. Sergeant Yyr petitioned the use of a vessel to embark upon the Waye, an act that is not uncommon - Companies often share vessels for one reason or another. However, he did not expect the Librarian Xoka to take an interest in his request. Xoka insisted that, rather than travel alone, he join part of a larger force. As part of the Librarium, Xoka is technically numbered amongst the First Company, and thus his request carries weight. Sergeant Qyoon was chosen to lead the taskforce, and the mighty Ravenlord readied for the journey. So embarked, the Supernovas travelled the Waye of Ghosts without incident, until they happened upon an Astropathic call to arms, eminating from Dkara Primus...

Chapter: The Heralds of Light
Background: The Heralds of Light are a very distant successor chapter of the Ultramarines, headed in their original founding by a joint force of Ultramarines and Iron Hands. Elite amongst them are the Silverhands, the masters of the chapter's technological lore and the guardians of its reclaimed archaeotech relics. Gene Seed: Ultramarines Task-Force Commander: Terminator-Captain Argus Nazeach Unit Disposition: Fleet: Strike Cruiser Clarion 2x Thunderhawks HQ: Terminator-Captain Argus Nazeach Librarian Morgan Elites: Veteran Squad Zariel Terminator Squad Nazeach Silverhand Terminators Troops: 2x Fire Support Tactical Squads Assault Tactical squad 2x Silverhand Marine Squads Fast Attack: Engel Assault Marines Heavy Support: Silverhand Dreadnought Archimedes 2x Devastator Squads Motor Pool: 5x Rhinos 10x Space Marine Bikes 5x Silverhand Jetbikes

KK, this definitely interests me. If it's allright, I'll only take a few squads of infantry, and have a very large fleet and a lot of Techmarines, Servo-harnesses, Servo-arms, and servitors.
Chapter: Steel Hearts (8th Clan) Gene Seed: Iron Hands Background: Created during the 16th Founding, the Steel Hearts carry on many of the traditions of their Iron Hands bretheren: a supreme sense of competition, a hatred of weakness (and the desire to purge it), and a supreme devotion to the Emperor. Much like their Iron Hands bretheren, they revere their limited Terminators and Dreadnoughts. They are a very fleet-oriented chapter, taking their homeworld from the planet of Corrazon III, which sits upon an unusually calm section of the warp; However, as a result, there are very few librarians in the Hearts; the Forgeworld of Corrazon VI, a major shipyard in the far eastern section of the Segmentum Pacificus. They also practise extensively the use of augmentation; their name derives from their practice of replacing each initiate's sternum with a mechanical interface, and placing a sheet of heavy armor plating over that. They are a very reclusive chapter, and often are cursed with the bad luck of finding their targets already destroyed, or surrendered without a fight. However, the chapter institues extreme training to make up for that, often resulting in many augmented Battle Brothers. Task-Force Commander: Venerable Dreadnought Plumbum Sangris Unit Disposition: Fleet -Venerable Battle Barge Insiduous: In M39, the Claudios system was in revolt, and the Shipyards of Claudios V were overthrown by heretics. The Eighth Clan of the Steel Hearts was dispatched to overtake the traitorous scum, and engaged the enemy navy in battle. The most of the battle was fought to a draw; however, after three days of brutal combat, most of the Space marine fleet was disabled, although not a single ship had yet fallen. The Hereitics looked like they were going to win, and charged their fleet towards the last fully functional strike cruiser. However, the Emperor was truly gracious that day, and out of the Warp came an Oberon-Class Battleship. It shined safron and silver in the light of the distant sun, majestic, almost as if it had been made in the shipyards only a day before. And then it opened fire, each shot of its lances causing a ship's fiery demise, each broadside obliterating a heretic vessel. Any ships that were fast enough to have their crew completely and utterly renounce their False Gods were spared, and after those that could not do that task were completely destroyed, the Oberon moved into orbit over the remnants of the Forge World, and proceded to place orbital strikes over all of the corrupted monuments, killing all those not of the Emperor's faith. The Space Marine fleet could only watch in awe, their ship's machine spirits rejoicing, refusing to move. When its work was done, the Battleship signaled through an encrypted message that all vessels were to follow them home. Everything entered the warp, and when they returned to Corrazon 600* years later, the Space Marine fleet were hailed as long-lost heroes are clebrated, and the redeemed traitors were given a chance at redemption through service until death, and formed as Battlegroup Skull. All were to perish in the Glory of the Emperor within a decade. Attention then turned to the Oberon itself, and it was found inactive, uncrewed. The Inquisition suspected corruption, but when they came aboard to purge it, a holy spirit of the Emperor forced an inquisitor's sanctioned psyker to his knees, and bade them to not destroy this ship, for its existence sung a thousand praises to the emperor. Angelic voices sang, and it became clear to all that this was a gift of the Emperor. It was venerated by the Techpriests, and given to the Hearts as a sword and trumpet to do his work. Since then, it has performed admirably, even though its commands are often found to be mysteriously changed (but often to the advantage of the Marines; as such, it is regarded as a blessing of the emperor). ((NOTE TO MANATEE: THIS IS A PLOT DEVICE. IT DOES STUFF. Feel free to make it make our lives hell, or blast some pit that exposes the secret necron lair, etc. Of course, if you say that I can't take this venerable battle barge, then I will instead transfer most of my units to the Strike Cruiser)). -Strike Cruiser Bronze Blood -Escort Squadron "Copper Eye," 3 Gladius Class Frigates -Escort Squadron "Brass Knuckle," 1 Nova class Frigate and 2 Hunter-class Destroyers Command -Clan Elder Plumbum Sanguis -Iron Preist Nale Pedimus -Apothecary Edwardus Olrick -Chief Techmarine Carsicus Norten -Clan Honor Guard (command squad) Unit Dispositon: 4 Ship support squads (equipped as Tactical Squads; 1 split between the two escort squadrons, 1 on the Strike Cruiser, 2 onboard the Oberon) 3 Tactical Squads 2 Devestator Squads 1 Assault Squads Detachment of 10 Techmarines 50 Servitors, 10 Gun servitors, 10 Combat Servitors Motor Pool 5 Thunderhawk Gunships 3 Thunderhawk Transporters 2 Orbital Landers 5x Rhinos 1x Razorback 1x Vindicator 10x Space Marine Bikes 2x Predators (Fit to modularly swap weapons) 1x Whirlwind 10x Sentry Turrets Drop Pods (Very Many, there's a freaking Venerable Battle Barge...)

I am debating whether to start it tonight, or wait until tomorrow, giving some others a chance to throw in their part. However, I really have just about every GOOD RPer(and Dac :P ) in here already, so I may just start it in a couple hours.

There is no way in hell you're going to be allowed to bring along the Chapter Master of a Canon Chapter.

The Flesh Tearers are fairly limited in their fluff, at least until the BA codex, and are of small enough number that the Chapter Master personally overseeing an operation is fairly common. Besides, any fan roleplay isn't going to be canon.
