He wouldn't be allowed to make any use of tactical bonuses, because he's too retarded to remember plans. If left to his own devices, he'd probably starve to death.

Keep in mind that there are four Classes (Cleric, Fighter, Wizard, Sorcerer) where an Int 7 or lower character gains no skill points whatsoever because of their Int. Modifier. In other words, they are literally too stupid to teach.

Thus, Int 6 is a dog. Int 7 is a dolphin or an ape. Int 8 is the entry level requirement for 'human' intelligence, and even then he's potentially a retard.
As for the Dwarven Defender Prestige Class - providing you meet all the prerequesites, you can use it. Note on the "AC Bonus" rule - it is not clear how that applies, so I am ruling the following: +1 AC at Level 1-3, +2 at 4-6, +3 at 7-9, +4 at 10.
sorry to break in... but I know lots of humans who have INT 6... sometimes I get stuck working with them, or having them do my customer service needs at my bank.

so, WG... is Dirk in or should I just leave it alone, because like I said I have no book... just vague concept. priority of attributes...
CON (street trash are just necessarily either tough, shiesty, or dead)
CHA (despite his raggedness he can pull one over on people with random stories that excuse his appearance and demeanor)
DEX (quick little bugger)
WIS (kind of deranged and not good at decisionmaking that seems rational to others, but it all makes sense to him)
INT (self taught, not very knowledgable, but occasionally learned something useful in his rocky past)
STR (wirey but very little kinda guy. fights more with words than muscles, or better yet, just runs fast and finds them later after prepping better and gathering some friends)

Sounds sort of like possibly a Rogue or an odd cleric.
EVEN BETTER: That statline is for a SORCERROR. you could take the voices in the head thing all kinds of places: a magic echo or some other anomaly is speaking to him, or his id is using his magic powers to make his sword talk.....

I think it's fair to assume that by level 10, most Wizards will have obtained a good supply of spells. I'd say just use your best judgement - you're obviously going to have a bigger stock of low-level spells than high level.

If you're still in doubt, use the 'number of spells known' thing for the Sorcerer as a rule of thumb.

Background

Growing up as a little gnome Jason's father, Gilm Goldschmit was a merchant that specialized in trading adamantine. He loved to play tricks and created a vast fortune for himself. He married into a rich family and a female gnome singer Mardnab. Marnarb settled down enough to have many children as Gilm made more than enough money. As the firstborn son Jason Goldschmit was first went to school to become an engineer. At engineering school he kept wanting to cast spells on his teachers. He did however succeed due to his great intelligence. One day their was a class field trip about architecture to a nearby temple of Garl Glittergold. In field trip he found himself wonderfully affected by the trip. He pleaded his father to let him transfer and train to become a wizard. His mother said said yes to allow her son to become successful. This bothered his father a little but understood it is best for his son to be happy and make his own fate. When he started to learn to be a wizard he was apprenticed to a gnome master. His master Dellick Luwen however did not specialeze and was keen to take advantage of people. Despite this she was enchanting to take advantage of people. Jason while believing pranks for fun where fine however thought mind control and putting people to sleep was taking advantage of them so he did not want to learn that. He found it to be immoral and not liking it. Nor did he like learning how to protect things when he could. He learned what he wanted to quickly in making the time to learn to prepare read magic without a spell book in a few amounts of time. He applied these lesson quicker in conjuration. He then decided to specialize in conjuration. In school he could keep his focus longer than most others and learned to be patient. He learned early on things such as magical beast and dragons. He summoned an owl as his familiar that can fly and observe things in the dark to act as his familiar. He learned to do many things as a wizard profienctly. The day after he passed his test his master was taken hostage in the middle of the night. At first Jason thought this may have been a prank but sensed something far darker. With this a group of her nearby friends of cleric went on a rescue mission this seemed east but he went under the pressure of combat to summon allies and new to fight the kobolds who thought they could capture her. However after this help the master declared that he had finished his training. He went on other early adventures with his friends and gaining some knowledge. He found other adventures that were long and arduous and started to collect magic items. His fame reached fortnight university. He was offered a teaching position there. He taught classes in several subjects like magical beast and even talked about how summoning some of them can help save your life with personal background form his career. He then found an especially good time teaching an adventuring class. And was an expert. However to get a full time position as an adventuring professor the chancellor of the university wanted him to complete and long quest of his choosing saving Belintz form the new undead problem was that quest.

Personality

Jason Goldschmit is a curious and academic gnome. He takes details and clues seriously. He is tough and persistent when trying to learn things He however does have his fun and enjoys using creative solutions to fight his enemies.

PLEASE NOTE: * means 'add 4 against undead, add 2 against abberations'

Description:Darric is a hardy survivor, roaming the land to kill random undead that randomly roam the land terrorising random innocents. Used to being alone, he has obviously adapted. Upon approach, he looks slightly unclean and unkempt. He has a large amount of gear connected to his backpack, and it is obvious he carries some under his clothes; however, when adventuring, he usually finds somewhere more convenient to stash most of it. Without this, he always seems to be dressed in a rather bulky clothes: he usually wears one or more cloaks (inner one is Elvenkind, both of them reversable [OOC: if needed, I will pay a fee to get them sewn this way, as long as it doesn't interfere with the Elvenkind Magic.] He normally wears a hood or two, heat permitting. From his arms protrude a coat (once again, heat permitting, and reversable) and a pair of large elbow-length gloves. at the bottom of his cloak, a pair of well-travelled, dusty gaiters are visible that cover the tops of two well-made boots. his head is usually tilted down so his face is scarecley visible, yet he can see the road ahead fairly well.

However, if he took this outerwear off, then one could see the armor he wears underneath. The largest peice would be the expertly-Crafted breastplate, well-kept so that it would shine were its finish not made matte* for the purpose of stealth, and would be of a fine silvery colour were it not blackened*; these may sound like defects when described in simple terms, but in person they show the excellent craftsmanship of the Dwarven smith who made them, with their form-fitting curves and rounded spaulders.* His arms have the protection of two studded leather gloves (Gauntlets of Ogre Power) that go 3/4ths of the way to his elbows, and his head has the protection of a helmet, made of that same awesome blackened Mithril, that is shaped perfectly, with a small point at the top that is sloped not unlike the point of a hooded cloak*, and with slight brows; the helmet reaches down and protects his entire neck with segmented plates* much like his pauldrons (but much less curved) that reach around to the front on the bottommost plate, and tie on to the plate armor*. Over his boots are fine greaves made of this material, leaving only the bottom of the calves and the inside thigh exposed when combined with the tasset* extending from the bottom of the breastplate. Under this he wears a plain shirt, and a short-sleeved padded undershirt, and belted pants underneath. The now-visible adornment include a ring on his right hand, and an amulet that one would think was part of the breastplate located right at the neck. And of course socks. He also has some leather strips* intertwined wtih the braids of his long beard so that they will not become severed in battle; this is not needed for his long, unruly brown hair underneath hsi helmet.

*For aesthetic/RP purposes only, I'm not asking for +1 AC or anything. Its just to set his ambiance.

NOTE: He prefers his left hand, although he is ambidextirous (in that he can use either hand; blame TWF feat for this)

Just to give you all a heads up; I'm still game to run this so long as we can get the four players required... or three if that's just not happening.

If you've already applied and still want in, just confirm your participation.

Yea, I probably will still want to do this. Sorry, the Dwarf Ranger is just too awesome a concept to pass up.
