Default The World of Pestilence (Game Thread)

Ok heres the game thread kiddles, all I ask is that you post where your armies are in reference to the map. You can use my post as an example

[hr]

Ekerei the Faceless
Location: 2-C

From the peak of the mountain, Ekerei watched the ground come alive. As far as the demonlord could sense, his infinite armies of demons, mutants, and other writhing beasts of Nurgle tore flesh and bone from the screaming PDF forces as they retreated far to the southeast.

He was surrounded by his dreaded 1st Tier and the sorcerer Shikkan stood at his side. The Avian Necromancer spoke,

"Great Ekerei, we have detected Imperial Reinforcements within airspace......"

Ekerei responded,

"It means nothing.... besides we have other pressing matters. I can feel the presence of our ancient foe...."

The sky had a putrid tint of green, the near fatal amounts of pollution in the air now cooked the surface; acid lakes bubbled as gibbering nurglings played in the filth. A world dedicated to Nurgle is always a beautiful sight, and this world would be a sacrifice to bring Uredo Morbus into the Material Realm. Soon, all would be lost.....

[hr]

Allright.... this thread is open including landing spots. Just please do me a favor and try not to go absolutely nuts with posts. Im going out right now and probably won't be back till tomorrow morning and im going to want to sift through 5 pages of posts. So with that said...

GAME ON!!!!!!111

Just outside the system...

In the depth of space, a tear in the warp opened. The Space Hulk Kill-Lozer emerged along with it's numerous Kill Kroozer and hundreds of Roks escorts. Slowly but surely they made their way towards the Imperial world of Ore Galdus intend on looting and burning the world to the ground. WAAAGH! Nezfang has come to pay them a visit...

[hr]

Inside the bridge of the Space Hulk Kill-Lozer...

Warlord Nezfang runs his fingers through his newly implanted squig-beard. His WAAAGH!!! has been going well but he has yet to face an opponent to prove his prowess to the tribes and clans that has just recently join his ever-growing WAAAGH!!! He needs to krump something big and mean. And Gork be praised, Warphead Mugurty Wazgrub has found a disturbance in the Warp. From what he can tell from the babbling of the old Wyrdboy, a Daemon Prince is on a nearby system. It will make a good trophy. Plus Nezfang has been bored fighting Tau, Eldar and Imperial Boyz. No fun beating squishy things again and again. The Chaos Boyz will certainly be a good change of pace.

'How long till ve getz dere?!', Nezfang roared.
'Won't be long now, Boss. No worriez. Dey will be plenty to krump. An' according to Wazgrub here, 'em Chaos Boyz will come in plenty and we got da Imperial Boy's stuff to loot. Plenty o' wagons to take....I mean borrow.', said Skargul with a grin. Nezfang knew that Skargul always is looking for stuff to loot. Might as well. He's the best Mek in his WAAAGH!!! But he's a Deathskull Boy and always will be. Nezfang checked whether his Snazzgun is still in his possession.

OOC: Me and DAC are gona land on A3

Aboard the Seraphim, Private Stateroom of Gaigheil

Gaigheil of the Nine Wings looked at his Daughter Israfel, neither of them speaking to each other. Since Gaigheil had returned to the physical realm, his relationship with his daughter had been severely strained. He was not sure of the reason.
Perhaps it was because he forced her to kill that Imperial commander...Perhaps she simply did not like his control over her.

Israfel's appearance had changed also, She was now a tall and stunningly beautiful woman, with long raven hair. The snake tattoo was gone, and instead was replaced by a Heartless mark over her breast.

"I go now to this world."
he said to her simply.
"Fine." was her only response. No farewell, no pleas to join him in the battle....just 'Fine'. It Infuriated Gaigheil. He was not used to being given the cold shoulder, and strangely her defiance awakened his perverse desire.
He reached out with his right hand, painted pink and purple for Slaanesh, and with a single claw touched her just under the back of the neck and slid the claw down her back.
She forced his hand away.
"Dont touch me..."

His advance denied, Gaigheil stormed away.
As her father slammed the door, she whispered.
"Soon my I'll be with him again...I'll bring him back..."

[hr]
Surface of the planet

A small, rippling flame appeared in mid air over the ground of the plague afflicted world. The flame began to grow larger and wider, becoming a burning hole in reality.
A single massive, blue boot stepped through the warp gate, fallowed by the massive form of Daemon Prince Gaigheil. A strong wind blew past the daemon prince, and Gaigheil's nine huge black wings where lifted up slightly.
Another, smaller blue boot came through the gate, fallowed by the body of a Rubric Marine.
Thousand Sons began to march through the gate, taking up position around their Daemon Master, soon Sorcerers began to step out also.
The Chaos Space Marines where fallowed by several hundred slave caring large machines and building devices.
The slaves set to work immediately, clearing ground and laying down a thin layer of what looked like cement under the watchful gaze of the Sorcerers.

Gaigheil sent a telepathic message to his Sorcerers on the Seraphim.
Tell the Iron Warriors to use the Rift for now until we get things up and running to send in their troops. Send in our own units in slowly, so we dont need to widen the hole. Save the Defilers for now. Send in the Heartless next.

While he had been talking, Thousand Sons had continued to walk through the gate in fours and fives, with sorcerers and slaves coming through between waves.

[hr]
The Warp

Uriel, Sandalphon and Ridwan, the Sons of Gaigheil, looked out from the warp on the planet bellow. The Arch-Daemons of Gaigheil legions watching what was going on with different amounts of interest.

Uriel, with his ancient, Greek style armour in place, was striding through the ranks of Cherubim, impatient to start spilling blood.
Ridwan his black skin setting him apart from the his two brothers, had his eyes closed and could have been mistaken for sleeping. But Daemons never sleep.
Sandalphon was looking through the portal with interest, moving its image from place to place. He held the book chained to the daemons childlike form in one arm.

All of Gaigheils Daemons hungered to taste souls...

Sorcerror Encarnus of the Iron Warriors
Above the Tainted Battle Barge Iron Will

"Go forth, Disciple of the mighty Perturabo," Said the Warsmith Oberron, do not get thyself killed, we all know how much your powers contribute to our efforts here. We all appreciate you as a wall of a fortress appreciates the friendly artillery behind it providing counter-battery, as the machinery of a world under seige appreciates the stocks of oil that are made available to ease their workings. Now, let out purpose be fulfilled."

"Aye, Lord," said Encarnus, "This day shall be ours. Our purpose is clear... to continue the siege of the Imperium that dare call us traitor, when it betrayed our Legion. Men, Onward, prepare for drop."

Between Low and High Orbit Orbit

Quite unexpectedly, a hole in the warp opened. Several imperial vessels were to note this, and attempted to turn to receive the daring attack, but found that they were only able to fire off a few rounds before the large ships, one had to be the size of a battleship, had gone back through another warp portal that opened dead ahead of them. There was some damage evidently as debris was launched from the ships, most in an oddly similar pattern, most of it heading towards the planet.

By the time the Imperials in Low orbit had much of a chance to notice that the craft were ancient drop pods, dreadclaws and Thunderhawks, there was little they could do with all the random metalscrap the Iron Warriors had also released with their drop pods disrupting their scanners, and scattering their blasts.

Surface of the planet

While the Imperial defenses were still reacting to the massive flurry of metal, they got another surprise. Some of the Dreadclaws exploded, releasing more chaff out into the line fo fire of many Imperial defenses as their operators watched with amazement as many of their shots missed outright, or proved totally innefective. But why did the forces of Darkness waste several of these valuable craft?

The truth was, they did not. Merely a second before, the last of several large, hulking Marines finished materialising after the teleport jump from the falling drop pods. Each fell another three feet or thereabouts, as being materialised abouveground and taking a slight fall was a much better option than teleporting and finding one's legs have fused with the ground.

Encarnus looked at his men, the first to set foot upon this planet. They were the elite, just as the Terminators he had known when he wore a more crimson armor had been Elite. Here too were the Obliterators, equally as elite with all the weapons they could find at their disposal. He heard each report, and the surroundings were all clear, save, of course, for about 50 yards away where the forces of that Daemon Prince were assembling. Quickly, he lead them away from directly under the landing zone.

Only two minutes later, the first of the dreadclaws thudded down. They too released the same concrete-like substance from their interiors in wide swaths around them, and with blower-fans around the ground, they spread out and were flattened. There was a slight pause for a minute, as the foundation had to dry, but then all around drop pods thudded. Some had the remains of vehicles, others had Power-armored marines, and a few carried Dreadnoughts. The last contained their builders, either heretics and cultists that had joined them or corrupted servitors. Quickly now, many of the structures began to unfold as the builders put their ministrations to the machines. All was going according to plan.

Encarnus turned to his senior-most Terminator Champion, and spoke. "Be sure to make sure everything continues as planned, I and Asterius and Mardentus will make sure that the schemer's men have not royally entangled themselves in their lies."

on the other side of the system

On the outer edge of the system a second warp rift opened and from it emerged Battlegroup Vindictus the first of the two battlegroups dispatched to stop Ekerei's plan. The ships began to move towards Ore Galdus.

[hr]

Bridge of The Salvation of Armageddon

characters present: fleet-admiral Mallear, Lord General Baldwin, Fleet Liason Wilder,
Master Astropath Kaltos, Commisar-General Hansen.

"We have reached the system Lord General soon we will be able to deploy." said Mallear from his throne.
"Good, send out satalites to scan for suitable landing location as soon as we are within range. Can you make that happen Wilder?" asked Baldwin
"Of course Lord General spy satalites will be launched as soon as possible. our ETA is 3 hours to reach orbit"
As the conversation continued between Wilder and Baldwin, Kaltos held up his hand signalling that had something important to say.
"Yes Kaltos what have you to say?" said Hansen interupting the conversation.
"I am recieving a communique from higher command. A second Battlegroup has been sent to Ore Galdus we are to maintain holding patterns above the planet untill they arrive"
Wilder called up a bridge crewmember and made sure the order was spread between the fleet.

[hr]

"ETA 1 hour" was the message through the intercom.
A few minutes later an excited crewmember burst into the inner bridge.
"Why have you not asked to enter ? " spoke Mallear.
"Sorry Fleet Admiral but ork vessels have been spotted. How shall we proceed?" the crew member responded panting hard
"form defenceive formation do not engage unless nessesery" barked Mallear
"Orks were ever we go we find them there already doing battle" said Hansen

A few short minutes latter on the opposite side of the planet an even bigger fleet emerged. Consisting of 3 battleships, 3 Heavy crusiers, 9 Crusiers, 2 light Crusiers, and a host of escort ships. The Battlegroup Victoria had arrived.

On the Emperor Class Battleship Hammer of Hellania

Wells was overlooking a large data display in the middle of the bridge ploting their course of action. The commanders of the Various forces under his command stood around the display listening intendly as Wells outlined his plan.

"Alright then. It seems the PDF held up better than expected. As it stands we still have a viable landing zone. Here, southeast of the mines. We can unload our heavier equipment there. Colonel Hanz, your 254th regiment will hold the port along with the remains of the PDF, you'll need to dig in because it's the only place we can load out heavy gear. Colonel Keizer, your artillery will deploy in the port as well set up shop and you'll provide support where needed. Colonels Gunther and Walters you'll hold your tanks in reserve. We're going underground so they won't be of much use, you'll assist where needed among our forces. Colonel Kirtzhelm will advance to the mines on foot. My Hellanians will sercure the flanks here and here(C4 and D3) before advancing to support. The first Hellanian will wait until the rest of the force has landed before landing in direct support, of the mine assualt." he looked at the assimbled commanders "Any questions?"

After a moment of no questions a man stepped up behind Wells and gave him a message "Walter you're a Lord Admiral now. You don't have to hand me the messages personally you know."

The Admiral smiled "True but this seemed important, and besides you're suppose to be a Saint you know. Seeing an Admiral running errans helps that immage. A second fleet is already in orbit"

"Have they begun disembarking?" Wells asked, He didn't even bother telling Picket of about calling him a Living Saint being as the man would never stop it seemed.
"No they seem to have stalled in preperation for an ork assualt"
"Orks too?"
"Them and some deamons"
sigh "Well now we know why they asked for me personally"

As they talked two more figures appeared on the bridge, Inquisitors Valorne and Bellain. Valorne spoke up "Yes it is My Lord. Especially considering the mastermind behind all this. Our old foe Ekerei the Faceless, and I've just received a report placing your old aqantince hear as well. You remember Gaigheil do you not."

Wells nodded. "Contact the other fleet."

[hr]
Communication to Battlegroup Vindictus
Clearance level: Classified(for Lord General Baldwin's eyes only)
From Inquisitor Valorne on behalf of Lord General Jonathan Wells, Living Saint of his most glorious Imperial Magesty.

Inclosed are a set of orders concerning the disposition of troop deployments of the Hellanian and Krieg regiments of Battlegroup Victoria. You're regiments can begin deploying at the spaceport as soon as you will.

Dispite my urging to take command of your battlegroup under the name of the Emperor, Lord Wells has instruted me to pass on this to you.

You have complete command over your forces. I suggest you leave the mines to my men considering their skills at close quarters warfair but all plans concerning your forces are at your disgresstion. The Emperor Protects.
-Jonathan Wells

Remember General, we of the Inquisition are always watching. Good day.

Gaigheil was watching the slaves continue their work, not really seeing him. His personal guard of one thousand Heartless, of both Slaaneshi and Tzeentchian disposition had started to emerge from the warp gate. Next would be the comanderate minoris, the individual leaders of the Gaigheil's forces.

Gaigheil felt something then, something in his mind. It was a feeling almost like nostalgia...almost.
"Wells..."
Gaigheil hissed from his fangs. Gaigheil closed his eyes and searched for the a single soul in the cosmos.

[hr]

The living saint of the Imperium, Wells felt something in his mind. It was like getting a headache in the back of his skull...but it didn't exactly hurt...
He heard words echo in his mind. He knew they where not his own mind playing tricks on him.
He knew, because they made his soul burn with every syllable. The first thing he heard was laughter. It started low, like a cackle but soon became a roar like that of a jet engine.
"So, your a 'saint' now eh? Well, just between you and me, your a liar. I know where you got your 'holiness', and it seems you have neglected to tell anyone of it. Perhaps the taint of my possession ran deeper than even I knew. Hello Wells. Its Gaigheil, but don't worry, you still got your powers from a god...AHAHAHAHA!

Encarnus walked up to the Daemon, feeling its thoughts, tendrils going outwards... probably giving away vital intelligence, he thought. At the very least, his prescence would remain unknown... for catching a foe in a seige when his gates are still wide open and his stocks no fuller than normal is a far lesser painful ordeal than one who expects barbarians at the Gates, and if anyone knew of the pain and longing of seige or related events, it was he and his bretheren. Well, those Imperial Fists who got Slaughtered in the magnificent trap laid out after the Battle for Terra, but they're dead now. Well, it was time, and gave the giant Daemon a slight mental tug.

The Daemon Prince turned to face them, smiling very cruelly while doing so. "Ah, I was wondering when you would come over... So, greetings, Iron Warriors." Still smiling, he made a gesture of welcome.

Encarnus gave a very formal, very cold, response, unthinking, for the distrust in the Warp was palpable from himself. Mardentus was managing to make a slight emotion fo distrust along with the usual weirdness he detected from those infected with the obliterator virus, which was a very bad sign, for his mind was ususally the most stoic of nearly all his stoic Bretheren, and such meant that strong distrust was in his mind also. Asterius had about half the distrust of Encarnus, but he made up for it with a rage he was controlling, but by not much. He took the blackest part that was sneaking in, and stored it in his mind for later feeding to his Khornate Patron, the one who had broke the legs of Sanguinius and would in later generations contribute to that same Black Rage, along with the Death Throes of his Father. For these feelings of distrust to be felt, he momentarily removed the three of them from his protective Warp cloak, although it was surely not strong enough to hold them back full-force.

By then, he had run out of small talk, mechanically discussing the construction of the rockcrete layer and being minorly offensive about how his men were by far the better engineers, but before he could leave, the Daemon's sub-commanders came through. He met them, and got a feelign for what each was like.

Most, he found, had their father's mark of scheeming sorcerry upon them, save for the champion fothe Drakes who seemed more insane than able to think up a plan, and the Nurgle one, who might be useful for cultivating the obliterator virus.

However, time was pressing. It was urgent that they get back, for Mardentus would need to contribute to the production of the obliterator virus, and maintaining the cloak over such a long distance would put undue strain upon his daemonpacts....

Mugurty sneezed but instead of green snot, the Warphead sneezed green flame, setting alight 2 Meks and a few Grots. They scream and run around until either they're dead or rolled about to extinguish the flame. Either way, it's a good laugh for the boyz on the bridge.

Nezfang chuckled and turned to the Warphead, "Yuz sniffed somethin'?"
"Aye, Chaos Boyz......one of 'em, Daemon Boss is contacting one of the Imperial Boy. A special 'un at that. Very shiny and bright special 'un.", answered Mugurty as he whip the snot off his nose.
"Bah! Those 'oomies is all talk and no fight....until wez start beating on their heads! Har har har!"
"Boss! We be in WAAAGH!!! range of those Imperial Boy's shipz!"
, said one of the Meks.
"Alrite, time to get stuck in! WAAAGH!!!"

[hr]

The Kill Kroozers and Roks pushed their propulsion system to maximum WAAAGH!!! Soon, their broadsides and lance weapons light up the space above Ore Galdus. The Imperial fleet are now engaging in a broadside-to-broadside fight with the Ork Kill Kroozers and Rokz while at the same time, avoiding getting boarded by them.

The Iron Warriors saw this as their chance. They had been trailing the Ork fleet, for it posed serious problems (and also they knew that the Roks were very, ah, juicy targets).

The Chaos Fleet exited the warp, with their Battleships in the lead. The Corrupted Oberron Class Battleship Iron Storm, the gun batteries awoke, as they did with the Tainted battle Barge Iron Will. The Orks who hung back were caught unprepared, since this attack came directly at them from their left, doing the often-suicidal maneuver of capping the T, but in this case the surprise was on their side, and they were able to close quickly, and then let loose with a full boradside in the middle of the remaining Ork fleet left behind. about 10 Kill Kroozers blew apart and 2 Terror Kroozers, mostly due to the severe damage that the Bombardment cannons of the five vessels equipped with them could cause. Of course, the Chaos were not without their lossess, the Slaughter-class cruisers Rabid Horror and Rending Exterminator both suffered major damage, the former being destroyed outright, the latter making it through, but it would have to wait for repairs... and be towed there. The Murder-class cruiser Anarchy Talon was reduced to a drifting wreck, as were the Iconoclasts Imperial Feet and Harbinger of Mood.
