Default Osiris mission (story thread)

Ok then. Here we are about to go rocketing into an unknown realm, and so I need to lay down some ground rules. No Godmodding, for a start, without the permission of the person. No being unrealistically powerful. Even marines have limits! No finding mysterious temples on the planet. Remember, it's been uninhabited for bloody ages. Also, just to simplify things, write in italics when you're OOC.
So, without further ado, let us begin!!!

In a small metal pyramoid, high above the lush, green surface, eight warriors of the immortal Emperor of Terra stood in grim silence.
An Inquisitor, dressed strange garb. A scout with a large shotgun in a holster. A Sister of Battle with a large pair of white wings mounted upon her back. A Howling Griffon with a pair of katanas mounted on his back. A Captain of the Emperor's Hammer Chapter. A Deathwatch marine with a storm bolter at his side. A Grey Knight, his Halberd glowing sinisterly. And a Blood Angel, a ferocious warrior.

Just to kick it all off.

Brother Infernus stood beside his bike, looking down the dead plain.

A Dead World. Another Dead World, all too familiar.....

He remembered the first time he fell. He always did when he returned to such Dead Worlds as he did now.

He knew that the world was nto as dad as it first appeared, something was wrong.

Francis cautiously removed his helmet, regarding the landscape and the vistas before him. It was beautiful, sure, but the danger lurking below the surface was what intrigued him. He had battled xenos scum for years, but never in such dire circumstances as now. So many powerful warriors of the Emperor, gathered in one place... it was enlightening. He looked forward to learning what he could from the Inquisitors and his other Space Marine brothers. A wise warrior will learn from the trials of others, for it was impossible for Francis to gut every type of alien scum himself.

He put his helmet back on and engaged the HUD to begin filtering information. His power flail remained inactive at his belt and his storm bolter was held in his steely grasp, prepared to spit fiery retribution at the first enemy to get in range.

Justicar Avalon strode out amongst his other brothers onto the surface of the planet. They moved cautiously. Avalon knew how easily one could be ambushed.
His heightened senses caught a flash of movement, and a group of Eldar ran from tree to tree.
Exodites!, thought Avalon. He knew that this might happen.
Without warning, a low Vssss! came from the forest, and a large bunch of hollowed-out shurikens (Rings) came flying towards the Marines!

Acantha was high in the skies before the shurikens were launched. Flying low over the trees, she blazed down with her Inferno pistols, torching the trees that the Eldar were hiding in. Careful not to light the forest, she dropped into a melee with an eldar, firing at point blank to turn the xeno into a smouldering ash.
She sighed, once again her brothers had been left behind, waiting for someone else to fight first.
The Exarch of the Eldar swung down upon Acantha, blade quickly going to the back of her neck, unseen and unheard by the Veteran sister.

Korill, they're Exodites. I don't think they have Exarchs.

The Seraphim had already incinerated many Exodites, but as she was, the leader had snuck up on her and has attempted to kill her! Avalon could not let this happen.
He done all he could in the time he had. He lifted his halberd and propelled it towards the leader. The weapon struck him in the chest, going right through and hitting a tree. A quick word brought the Halberd back to Avalon's hand.

Imran Brought his combi-bolter to bear, ripping apart 2 bikers to shreds and smashing to the ground like a drop pod of the Astartes, his optics picked up a spiritual leader amongst them, needlesy to say a Witch that shall be shown the emperors light right....now, right then he pulled the secondary trigger and the bolt disenigrated the filthy witches head and once again jet bike met earth as the ashes of one of the most vile things on earth tumbled out of the sky, they were closing in on him fast so he pulled out his sword "Leo of Deus's" and his inferno pistol. The first one came screeching over head, he ducked and thrust his sword up, spliting the bike in half and severing the leg of the Xenos.

"DIE WITCH, I BRING UPON YOU THE EMPERORS FURY!!!" and with that the wounded Xenos screeched his unholy screech as he was burned alive from the holy promenthium of his pistol.

Infernus brough his bike to bear upon the exodites, several Falling from the bolter fire. However, even though he was in front, he ran past the Exodites, his bike taking some minor damage from the shot fired upon him. However, he turned, and went parrallel to the forest to confront the jetbikes he knew would be there. He fired off his bolters, and one had to dodge to his right, in the direction of the rest of the squad. His jousting was more successful: even though his red arm bore a slight scar through the action of a lance, he was able to slice a jetbike in half. He then circled back, the remaining jetbikes in tow, and set out to just pass the Justicar. He projected fears of warning into the warp, and hoped that the justicar would respond.

The righteous zeal of his comrades inspired Francis. However, now was not the time to waste his energy reserves on pathetic offensives. He swiftly cocked his storm bolter and took a quick look at the battlefield. The Grey Knight justicar was busy slaying Eldar grunts. Acantha was driving the reserves out of the forest and into the open, as Imran violently immolated a psyker. Infernus masterfully executed bike maneuvers and destroyed one, leading the others back torwards the main fight.

A reassuring chime echoed in his helmet as Francis became aware his Vengeance rounds were loaded. He took aim and blasted three of the jetbike-pursuers out of the air with a hail superheated-bolt shells. Francis pulled back and let his storm bolter cool. That should buy Infernus some space.

His hand flicked to the power flail, a nervous reflex, but Francis remained confident that the Xenos would not close combat with him. He was content examining the attack and fighting styles of the aliens, prepared to use their every move against them.

Brother-Captain Faust unleashed a burst from his bolter-melta, dropping a pair of the lightly armoured xenos. Quietly intoning one of the battle-vows of his chapter, he began to advance down the slope of the pyramid, continuing to fire short bursts as he did so.
