It has been 2 years since the battle on Ultima V. The Imperium lies weakened, many of its regiments destroyed on Ultima, and would be easily defeated if not for the iron will of the remaning regiments. By order of the Ecclesiarchy, the small planet of Obscuran, a world lying several light years from Ultima V, has become a training ground for a new regiment of the Imperial Guard. All survivors of the war with Chaos have been moved to its defenses, recruits from other worlds in the sector have been brought to Obscuran to train. You are one of those recruits. Choose your Destiny with the guiding light of the Emperor. Your training starts now.


This roleplay is for a regiment of the Imperial Guard. Whoever wants to join can, there is no limit to the number of players in this RP!
Okay, my rules for roleplaying have one difference then the above.

-all posts must be 4 or more sentences
- I ask that when you role a dice, you use an online dice roller to send results to me at dnassy@hotmail.com

Now on to character creation:

here is the basic character card

Nameenter your character's desired first and last name)
Position Request: (Sniper, CC Specialist, Sergeant, Medic, etc.)
Age: (enter your character's desired age)
Homeworld: (enter homeworld)
Fluff: (enter a back story for your chracter)
Weapons and Wargear: (enter desired weapons and wargear)
Advantages/Disadvantages: (enter desired advantages. for every one advantage you must take 1 disadvantage. you can only take two advantages.)
Personal Item: (a personal weapon, trinket, wargear item, etc)

Weapons and Wargear:Each character is allowed 40 points to spen on weapons and wargear. You can offer other weapons, these are just what i can remember.

CC weapons:
Close combat weapon(swords,axes) - 1 point
Combat Knife(given to all characters when created, but can have more than one) - 1 point
Power weapon - 10 points
Power Fist(officers only) - 15 points


Ranged weapons:
Laspistol(given to all characters when created, but can take more than one, or swap for bolt pistol) - 1 point
Bolt Pistol - 2 points
Lasgun - 1 point
Shotgun - 5 points
Boltgun - 5 points
Long-las - 10 points
Plasma Pistol - 8 points
Needle rifle(sniper class only replaces long-las)-10 points
Needle Pistol- 4 points
Web Pistol-5 points
Throwing Stars/Knives-2 points (2 knives per choice)
Hellgun(Storm Troopers only) - 5 points
Hell Pistol (same as above) - 3 points

Heavy Weapons:
Heavy Bolter - 15 points
Missile Launcher - 25 points
Flamer - 10 points
Grenade Launcher - 8 points

Wargear:
Bionics - 5 points
Frag Grenades - 1 point
Krak Grenades - 2 points
Melta Bombs - 5 points
Carapace Armor - 10 points
Silenced weapon - 5 points per weapon
Servo-arm(Techpriests/enginseers only) - 15 points
Camo cloak - 5 points

Example preset loadouts:
Sniper
weapons and wargear: Silenced Long-Las, Silenced las-pistol, Camo Cloak, combat knife

CC specialist
Weapons and wargear: CC weapon, las-pistol, combat knife, frag grenades

Heavy Weapons specialist Note: given NPC to help lug the bigger weapons around. Can be controled by player
weapons and wargear: Heavy Bolter, Krak Grenades, Combat Knife, Las-pistol

Assassin
weapons and wargear: Power Weapon, Web Pistol, Throwing Knives, Las-pistol, combat knife

Example Advantages:
Technologically Adept
Big and Strong
Keen Eyed/Acute senses
Fast
Stealthy
Demolitions
Weapon Specialization(weapon name here)

Example Disadvantages:
Large Target (must be selected if Big and Strong was taken)
Technoloically Inadept
Slow
Unobservant
clumsy
Bad at shooting
Bad at cc
Reckless


Here is my character
Name: James Castellan

Position Request: Techpriest/Camp Commander

Homeworld: Ryza

Age: 30

Fluff: James Castellan hails from the Imperial Forgeworld of Ryza, one of the smallest Forgeworlds in the Segmentum Tempestus. He was offered a position in the Adeptus Mechanicus at age 14 when he stumbled upon a hidden catacomb, deep beneath the city. After further exploration, he found several artifacts bearing information on Standard Template Construction. He was brought before the world's head Enginseer, who found him to be worthy of consecration. He was sent to Mars to train in the ways of the Omnissiah, later returning to Ryza as a Techpriest, withered with blessing of the machine god. He was drafted into the Cadian 29th as a Master Technician, and as someone who actually knew how to construct vehicles that didn't fall apart. He was later elevated to camp commander as he proved his metal in combat.

Weapons and Wargear:
Power weapon - 10 points
Bolt Pistol - 2 points
Bionic arm - 5 points
Servo Arm(In the form of 4 mechandrites) - 15 points
Plasma Pistol - 8 points

Advantages
Technologically Adept - Castellan's training has taught him much

Disadvantages
Bad at shooting - James's hand is not that steady

Personal Item
Castellan wears a small necklace around his neck. On this necklace is an adamantium charm crafted on Ryza. It is inscribe with blessings of the Machine God, and holds a relic that nulifies psykers.

Once again, as many people who want to join can. I'd suggest only starting one character, but if you think you can handle multiple characters, be my guest!

question.

so we're a cadian regiment that can come from different places? It may make more sense if you plan on makeing an ad-hoc regiment to name it after a random(read as. non-famous) planet, and say that the regiment is made up of survivers of various regiments that were almost destoryed on said planet.

not a big deal but usually men from different regiments don't mix. Note I said usually so you don't have to take it too seriously.

Johnnyboy, thanks for the advice. This is the first time i've created a roleplaying thread, so your tips are appreciated. What planet should i name it? And I ment to say when you roll a dice, use an online dice roller that you can e-mail the results to me at dnassy@hotmail.com. And if you are a sergeant, you can control the whole squad for things like meetings and the like, but most people will not be forming units. We will play as seperate individuals, but will be on the same team. Oh, and I'll take the thunder hammer out, since it is space marines.

well if you're going to drop a thunder hammer you should drop the lightning claws as well. IG don't get them(I still don't know why the commander in DoW gets a pair :-\ ).

and you should limit powerfists to officers only unless we're opperating like the last chancers(IG special characters' unit)


as for a unit name you can name it whatever you want. the galaxy is a big place :P

um how big are you if you talk large target like 6, 1/2 ft or something?

Whatever Height you think is large target. You could also describe it as "Bulky".

Position Request: Hit and Run scout/ Guerila warefare specialist

Age: 24

Home world: Catachan

Background: Born and bred on the Deathworld of Catachan, Garrick is a master hunter and survivalist. He was recruited into the Imperial Guard at the age 16. He fought on several Deathworlds and in 2 campaigns. His skills have seen him rise to the position of scout in 3 different regiments and have seen him be the sole survivor of 2 of those regiments on the field. Even against all odds Garrick will rise to the occasion, facing down almost certain death. His stealth and speed are his major assets and his psychical endurance is incredible.

His share of combat has earned him several battle field trophies, field merits, field promotions and accolades, as well as several medals of service, bravery and tactical knowledge.

Recently the news of his families death has given him new found energy. He seems to have a deathwish, running at the enemy headlong, but for some reason seems to be almost impervious to bullets. They say he is looking for a 'Reunion Round', the bullet that will reunite him with his family.

Weapons and Wargear:
-Pair of Silenced Needle Pistols - 13pts
-Las pistol - 1pt
-Power Weapon - 15pts
-Camo Cloak - 5pts
-2x Close Combat Weapons (Catachan Fang Blades) - 2pts
-Krak Grenades - 2pts


Advantages: Fast, Stealthy

Disadvantages: Suicidal on the battlefield, a lone wolf (he never, unless forced too, works with others)

approved. wait, no, you need another five points to silence both pistols, as it is 5 points per silenced weapon. Change that then it is approved.

Oh, and anyone with more weapons and wargear, feel free to post them. As long as they seem Guardish, I will add them for a points cost equal to their power. Same with advantages, but they don't have points costs.
