Default Chavs?
Can someone please explain the term Chav to me. I'm irish, so forgive me! I've heard the term thrown around, and take it to mean some kind of yob, or something. I just don't get it.

Basically, they are this gnerations equivilent of the punk rocker...the "in" peope, who go out of their way to prove how hard they are by trying to intimidate people. I'll PM you greater details now....

From what I understand they are the dregs of british society, more often than not influenced by rap culture and prone to fits of juvenile behavior.

My understanding of a chav: Someone who wears "sporty" clothing-makes (E.g. Reebok, Adidas etc) and who listens to dance/trance/"beats" music.

Or at least that's what they are where I live.

Thats a mild chav. Full on chavs are those who do that, drink cheap booze in public and generally make a nusiance of themselves.

Agreed. There are many "mild chavs" in my school (We call them townies though) although they are all tidy people.

I don't really know many annoying chavs, although I have in the past - they're really annoying.. They seem to speak a distored version of English too "Schmack" instead of "Smack" :

Yes, Townies. We get a lot of them, also. They generally take control of the CD player.

in ireland we call them scum because they are just that scum.
