Default Political cartoon, the Obama/Clinton ticket.

I couldn't resist posting this and wondering aobut the response to this rather tongue-in-cheek suggestion about the ever popular rumour of a Obama/Clinton ticket.

[sub]From www.cagle.com[/sub]

Just your thoughts and comments please.

I assume its a jab against Bill?

Not too good with American politics, but over here most people just assume that Bill wanted more terms in office which is why Hildog is running/Hilary was the real power behind Bill before and now she wants to go again.

That said, I don't believe its very well reported over here. Too much on "Primary this, primary that" but the news never goes into enough details.

Obama's gonna have the dream team.

Obama --- Edwards --- Al Gore

And now with Bill on board.

He should get Chelsea Clinton as well, just to spite Hillary.

Just remember, every day Clinton stays in the race, everything shifts a little bit towards McCain. And I really do think that McCain is doing an excellent job campagining- he has been on SNL making fun of himself 3 times this season, IIRC, and he always came across as very competent, down-to-earth, just overall a good guy. Whereas Obama is increasingly seeming like an elitist who doesn't understand anybody.

It depends on how much propaganda you are willing to absorb. This is just the "flip-flopping" tactic all over again, this time applied to something else. You let the media scream about something until the rabble starts to believe it. I don't really see that either candidate is much of an elitist. McCain had the political courage to tell the truth in Michigan, and Obama did the same in Pennsylvania. In that sense they are a lot more "in touch" with the working classes than the candidates that are willing to lie to them for votes. But I guess you could say that they are out of touch with how unwilling people are to recognize certain things about themselves.

But yeah, that would be a pretty funny ticket. I do not recall whether or not it is possible. I don't think it is.

I think Edwards is likely to be the VP. I think Hillary would refuse gracefully if asked, although I am not sure. I don't think Gore would want to be VP again after eight years of it, but I do expect to see him somewhere in the Cabinet.

Al Gore has pretty much said he wants no part of the politics anymore. he seems to ahve shifted entriely to enviroment and out of politics.

Hilary I think is possible, mainly because it would heal any rifts there might be in the democrats and put a good guy face on things for both of them. It might pinch both of thier personalities but it's got some merit, just not sure how much of a chance. It also gives the GOp few holes to throw attack ads at.

Edwards....hard for me to say with Edwards. Some of his policies sounded good, but it was hard to know how serious he was aobut them.

Bill Can't, IIRC, because if Obama died or whatnot he'd have to be president.

My money is on Edwards.

Khanaris, I'm only talking about perception. The guns and god comment didn't help Obama. What McCain has been doing has.

Don't be surprised if McCain's comments about lost jobs don't resurface between now and November. I hope they don't, because I think he was right, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me. McCain is doing well now because he isn't really being attacked yet. His test will come after the Democrats get settled into a single campaign. If the general campaign turns ugly, I expect to see both candidates attacked for this repeatedly. It is one of the oldest plays in a campaign manager's playbook, since it works so well on people who have little time to research what the candidates actually stand for. The "perception" that Obama is "out of touch" is mainly due the fact that that one comment has been dragged up again and again. He hasn't done anything else that I can see that would suggest it. You can't bring up perception without recognizing what is actually driving it. Not if you want to be honest about it, at any rate.

Khanaris, this is politics! There's no room for honesty!

Well, thats one of the big thigns with the Democratic race right now. Until one of them abdictates or the convention rolls around, they are just blowing through their money at an astounding rate and letting McCain build war chests and campaign scott-free.
