Default Annual Christians

The one timers, annuals, or what ever you call them, they are the Christians that go to Church once, maybe twice a year.
They are the reason you have to arrive at least 30 min early for mass.

But what to say about them, should we rejoice that they go at least once, even thoughthey don't regularly attend.

What is your view on them, have any stories to share?

I do that, but it's not because I'm a part-time Christian. I used to go every Sunday, but I just didn't feel comfortable with it.
My faith is a very personal thing, and I find shouting about it awkward. I go at Christmas though, because it's a very important celebration to me and I like to spend the day with my family, and I like to worship God in a church on the day.

If they do it because they've read the bible cover to cover and realize that there's other ways of keeping holy the Sabbath, then they should be proud...* But if not, and they just think church is boring, then to heckle with them.

Though it's slightly 'depressing' from a certain PoV to see annual Christians, I'd still say every time that it should be rejoiced that they go those one times. They might not be good Christians, but there's no need to judge.

True, but I can

Frankly, to my friend, I'm know as 'Pre-Vatican II'. I am one of those people who hates support groups and commercialism on Jesus' birthday. I think they should be looked at as breaking the Commandments!

Rezzy, I see your point, and if youre not Roman Catholic, I woulnd't be very knowledgable on it, but the best I can tell you is to pray a lot on Sundays. That should tell God that you still care enough to take, say, an hour out of your week and set it aside for him.

Ol' JC'll be proud

Merry Christmas

Faith isn't found in a church. You have to be up to your armpits in someone elses blood, or be/be with someone so close to death they're admiring Death's coat stand. It's there faith is forged, or broken.

I personally prefer Annual Christians. I've always felt someone who goes to church every week is just doing it to suck up for some after-life credit.
