Default Gravis does Sisters of Battle

This year will be my fifth year going to the UK GT, every year upto now I've used my Praetorian Imperial Guard, but this year a group of us (growing group lol), have decided to go up themed, as a result we're all doing Inquisition armies.

My choice was Mechanised Sisters of Battle, so I need ot build a 1500pt stand alone force, which will also be allies for my Guard.

It's an army which is entirely new to me having not played something in Power Armour since my very earliest days, and certainly nothing quite like sisters with their short range firepower and faith, I've decided on a working list which I'll build upto maybe making some changes along the way.

HQ

Canoness inc. Eviscerator, Jump Pack, Cloak of Saint Aspira, Book of St.Lucius, Bolt Pistol

ELITES
Celestian Squad inc. Veteran Sister Superior, Book of St.Lucius, Power Weapon, 9 Battle Sisters, Flamer, Heavy Flamer
Rhino inc. Smoke Launchers, Extra Armour

Celestian Squad inc. Veteran Sister Superior, Book of St.Lucius, Power Weapon, 9 Battle Sisters, Flamer, Heavy Flamer
Rhino inc. Smoke Launchers, Extra Armour

TROOPS

Battle Sisters Squad inc. Veteran Sister Superior, Book of St.Lucius, 9 Battle Sisters, Meltagun, Heavy Flamer
Rhino inc. Smoke Launchers, Extra Armour

Battle Sisters Squad inc. Veteran Sister Superior, Book of St.Lucius, 9 Battle Sisters, Meltagun, Heavy Flamer
Rhino inc. Smoke Launchers, Extra Armour

FAST ATTACK

Seraphim inc. Veteran Sister Superior with Eviscerator, Book of St.Lucius, 7 Sepahim, 2 Duel Hand Flamers

HEAVY SUPPORT

Exorcist

Exorcist

So far I've made some progress, everything is collected together and assembled, and most things are undercoated. Infact alot is just as is from the box, very few conversions, really just mounting up the Sepahrim away from the horid metal tabs, the Canoness and Veteran Sister Superiors and the Exorcists.

Paint scheme first though, I used the Bolter and Chainswords SoiB Painter to pick out a scheme I liked.

Which I've turned into my first test mini (aye theres some thick paint here...)

From here on in I'm gonna be aiming at a Squad or Vehicle finished every week, bit of a tall order, but I want to get on with finishing other things as well lol, here goes!

Looking good, and which heat you going too?
Might see you there

Edit

Also don't forget about the new rulebook, and the new scoring unit rule :P

Normally it's been Heat 1, but we've not yet decided for this year, used to be just me and a mate but now theres a group of 6 or 7 so it's gonna be a pain to organise which heat is best lol

Aye I'm keeping it in mind, the Celesitans can always become regular Sisters if needs be, but we'll see how it goes and how the actual rulebook reads once its in our hands rather on what rumour and rogue PDFs contain lol

Now attending Heat 2, with no changes to the list yet

And back to work on this lot, I've switched my scheme to Grey and Black rather then Grey and Red after some thought, the result of which are these, the first two squads minus their Veteran Sister Superiors who need some converting yet (akak Books of St Lucius).

No...that's not right

It's Adeptus Sororitas only, and doesn't say "one per army"

Though its a pointless thing to have on all the squads to be honest..

Aye I'm afraid you are indeed wrong there Zar, please cite your source because thats certainly not what the codex or FAQ says.

I'm gonna have to disagree with it being pointless to have it on all units as well, while its true the 6" sphere of influence is useful and in an ideal world should be fine its far from uncommon from my experience so far that squads end up a little more spread out then that, and too boot your far more at risk of losing the model carrying it now with 5th Ed's system of assigning wounds before making saves. It's far too useful to be without and is cheap enough not to be a major cost - though I am planning some changes to the list, think I need another Battle Sister Squad as a scoring unit, which means downgrading one of the Celestian units, on the plus side that'll give me enough points to add a second Canoness.

But..both squads have superiors, and everything else is Ld 9 anyway, so unless you lose both superiors in the sisters squad that's the only time you'll need it, there's no -1 for half strength any more, etc, I'd save yourself 20 pts...give the exoorcists a bulldozer and EA each. Be far more useful.

No, true, but combat modifiers are far more nasty, and with so few troops I'm very cautious about that, in my mind I simply cant afford to lose squads to being run down.
