Default Blood Raven Blog

Right I finally got around to painting... something! Motivation is hard to come by for it though, so I decided that maybe sharing my work with everyone will get people motivated to motivate me! Mind you I spend about 1 to 2 hours per marine so it's no wonder I need the extra Umph.

The good army pic

(sorry about the weird lighting, I'll get better ones in a day or so)

I'll add more as I get 'em painted!

Not bad. The pictures (as you mentioned) have funny lighting so most of the detail went poof.

From what I can see the paint seems very chunky, you should water down your paints (more if you already do). I usually do ~2:1 paint:water.
The painting itself seems good, highlights and detail seems pretty fine. Right now they're 6/10 but if you water down your paints and make it less thick, they may even go up to an 8/10 or so.
Good luck, I look forwards to seeing more!

Hmm... You need more lighting on the pictures, and they are out of focus slightly. As for the painting, they're not bad, but I recommend watering down your paint a little, as in some places it's looking a tad thick.

Overall, good job, and there is plenty of room for improvements.

I agree with Anton.
Where the colours go and that is good, just water down your paints.

Quite a nice paintjob.
But I'd recommend you to slay those mouldlines.
I would not enjoy seeing well-painted models ruined by not removing them.

Cheers

Go ahead and put some image brackets on these links and I might even consider looking at them.

I hate clicking.

The colors are kinda well, wrong. Their not red, their scab, theres a difference. Good job though.

I started with black base coat, applied a scab red layer, then a red gore layer, then highlight in a blood red/red gore mix for the armor as per this http://us.games-workshop.com/games/4...ns/default.htm tutorial.

I'll post a sample image but the pics are way too big to have them all as [img]'s...
