Well i have decided on making a Blue and white Coulour cheme for my tau.
The armour is white and the cloth is Blue. Blue i have no problem highlighting The cloth and such but the white is another thing. Any tips on how to highlight white armour? |

Well basically you cant.
![]() There isnt a colour brighter than Skull white in the GW range. So either, paint your white slightly grey (mix a little fortress grey in) and then highlight white. Or, just stick to shading :P Good luck, and dont forget to post in showcase. |

To add to what Thantos said, if you're lazy like I am when it comes to white then you can paint the straight white and then wash it with a black wash (may need to dilute it with water), and then go hit the high points with white after it dries.

Alternatively you could go with Bleached Bone and then use Skull White to highlight with.

I do my white for my Biel-Tan Eldar as Thor suggested. White, wash of dark grey/black, and then a higlight of white.

If I can add my tuppence worth, instead of using a wash of paint over the white base, i'd paint the shaded areas and lines as close as you can with codex grey, then paint your layers of white carefully up to those lines leaving the grey showing.
I had intended to do the same scheme with mine, but didn't realise how hard it is to get a nice smooth covering with white. I used a grey wash and it took about 5 coats of white to cover it, by which time the model looked pretty rough and bumpy.... In the end I papped out and used space wolves grey as the main armour scheme, which I've highlighted out to white. Good luck anyway mate! If you can pull it off that white armour blue cloth thing looks great!
