Hey guys, today i grabbed my brushes and decided to find a new test scheme for my kroot so i can finally actually paint my tau army as I have gotten my inspiration back. Note that this model is not finished, some touchups are needed to make it look more smooth. Also, sorry for the insufficient lighting, it's night time. Also the base needs to be touched uo still. C&C please!

Very nice work, particularly with the highlights and apparent depth of the gun. I think he needs more color, though. Just my personal preference for obnoxiously bright kroot, perhaps, but I think his sash color is too close to his skin color.

I really like the skintone, and how natural they look, but I think the cloth needs to be a brighter color to contrast the skin. Also the hair/frills could use some highlighting. Great job though.

The quills actually do have a grey highlight, it just isn't properly shown in the pictures, i wanted to make them look a deep black so the highlight is very minor.

I concur. Great work on the flesh, but the sash (at least in the pics) blends in.
I noted you paint a complete model before moving on to the next, whats your view on that? Piet

I made the first model to test out the scheme, however I did 2 more and decided how hard it was to match the skin tone. I did the next 5's skin tones all at the same time to keep them the same. Now i am doing all the other details individually. Also, not all of them will have the same sash color, and it's the pics, the colors are distinguishable in real life.

I love the scheme, and the execution is close to flawless.
Could you say something about the "history" of the second one, I can't seem to decipher what he is doing ![]() Rune |

Looks excellent. The details and shading on the gun are particularly good.
