Default Snow problem

Hey Tau online peoples,

yesterday I finaly started working on my piranha base idea. A hill/rock on a base the size of a warhammer fantasy chariot base. Than put the piranha on top of that hill/rock.

So I glued together a rock, painted it nicely and than added my snow mixture. When I did that most area's of snow sucked up some paint resulting in big purple stains.....

What did I do wrong?

My snow mixture was baking soda, PVA glue ( dutch version ) and water. I think I made it to watery. Or that the glue sucked up the paint. I painted the rock with standard GW paint watered down a lot!

Maybe I should have waited a day until the paint was completely dry? It was dry ( when I felt it it didnt stick on my finger ) but maybe the paint needed to harden or set?

Anyway heres the pictures of the rock.

I don't think it looks too bad, but in the future maybe wait for the glue to dry then coat it in purity seal or hard coat to protect it.

i think it actually looks pretty good ;D

you could just say its snow on an alien planet or there is some purple crystal underneath causing it to be colourful

Hmmm, the paint might still have been wet in places, I know you said it appeared dry but it can still be wet in places, and with it being watered down a lot it will need coating in something first, if you wet it again it will probably run..
Anyway try watering down the paint less, or using proper snow flock onto pva glue

Thanks for the tip. So a coating of some sorts would help me out. Either aply the purity seal can or maybe even a small layer of PVA glue without flock in it at first. And than go over that with the snow mixture
