Desert Yellow------------- the color thats inside the creases of the armor
Kommando Khaki-------- the main color u see on the armor
Shining Gold-------------- gold highlight-
Burnished Gold---------- for the circles on the gun
Graveyard Earth--------- highlight for the uniform
Snakebite Leather------ leather straps
Scorched brown ------- base color for the uniform
Ice blue-------------------- highlight for lenses/ skin
Midnight blue------------ base for lenses/skin

for the uniform
im going to basecoat by painting the of the firewarriors uniform Scorched Brown. im going to go over the uniform with watered down Graveyard Earth. im goin to mix a bit of Graveyard Earth + Kommando Khaki and further highlight the guardsman's uniform.

for the armor
im going to basecoat all the armor in graveyard earth then im going to go over it leaving the cracks open with desert yellow. im then going to lightly paint komando khaki on the armor.

lenses are going to be blue

It's similar to what I'm doing, but I use Bleached Bone for the armor, Graveyard Earth for the cloth, and red for the visors.

I don't know if anyone's ever thought of this, but I think it would be great to make an egyptian themed tau, in terms of the colors.

I have recently started painting some of my Tau and they are in desert colors. I will post some pics of them and if you like it I'll tell you how I painted it. ; )
