Default Any good tips on painting flesh?

On the models I mean. :P

Anyways, I tried painting Lt.Varras (( One of the guys that came with Macragee. )), but his flesh looked quite akward, I think I used too much paint or something rather. The fact that my Cadians are going to be here in two-three days, and the fact that I don't know bullocks about painting flesh makes me feel worried.

Any good advice you can give me about flesh painting? I have Bronzed Flesh and Elf Flesh.

Well, I would start with a thinned down coat of Dark Flesh, and then go over it in most areas with Dwarven Flesh and then slight highlights with Elf Flesh.

This is how I paint human flesh:

Basecoat= Dwarf Flesh
Highlight 1= 2:1 mix of Dwarf Flesh/Elf Flesh
Highlight 2= 1:1 mix of Dwarf Flesh/Elf Flesh

Sometimes little extra painting bits are added depending on the model, but that's usually it.

All of these colours should be thinned down slightly.

I start with an allover coat of bestial brown, covering all but the very edge of the face. Then paint over tanned flesh as above but leaving a small amount of the bestial brown showing around the edge of the face and in very deep recesses. Paint on dwarf flesh to the flat areas of the face. Then highlight raised areas with elf flesh.

Please don't take this as gospel but i'd like to think i'm pretty good at painting and it works for me.

Or the Fast method.. hit with bronzed flesh or what ever light color flesh you have or even bleached bone.. then hit with flesh wash.. follow up with highlight (optional) you can even flesh wash your primer white and then highlight with bleached bone (fastest)........These are not the greatest but they are decent looking and can be done quickly

As told by 'Eavy Metal's Fil Dunn:
(this requires watering down and careful precision to look real)

Dark Flesh
50/50 DF/Dwarf Flesh
DF
25/75 DF/Fortress Grey
50/50 DF/FG
50/25/25 DF/FG/Bleached Bone
50/50 (the thinnest of layers) 50/50 DF/BB

Works for me
