Default I Need Help Painting German Ambush Pattern Camo on IG Tanks.Updated WIP

Does anyone have any suggestions for painting German ambush pattern camo? What brand paint and which colors work best? Waht colors do you use for highlights and weathering? Which colors look best when painting the little dots on each color. EX: would you use the red-brown on the tan or would you use olive green? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Since you will be painting my former tank I'd like to help you out. Could you post a few pictures of real German tank patterns? I'm too lazy to look myself.

Something like this?

-Start out with a basecoat (in this case Kommando Khaki in GW colours)
-Stipple on camo colour #1 (in this case Dark Flesh, maybe). Stippling is best done with a large, stiff brush (Tee hee! uh.). If you don't want to stipple, you could probably blend the edges of the camo colour with the basecoat before the basecoat is completely dry.
-Stipple on (or blend) camo colour #2 (in this case... Catachan or Dark Angels Green.)
-With a finer brush, add the spots in camo colour #2 to the basecoat-covered areas. This should of course wait till the basecoat is completely dry.
-Pick up the basecoat paint again and add similar spots to the camoed areas.
-Add transfers, metallics, etc.

Thaks for your help guys. I decided to use Tamiya paints. Redbrown, dark yellow, and dark green. I sprayed a coat of red brown over the black base coat and masked off the areas that will be brown, next I will spray the yellow followed by more masking, then the green. Then the dots, metal, weathering..... I am doing them two at a time, pics of the first pair should be up in a couple of weeks.

Sorry about the double post, but I wanted to include some WIP shots before I finish several tanks. I have the base coat down, it still needs weathering and detail work.
Based on your feedback, I'll try to finish one this week an post pics in the showcase.

More WIP pics. They are multiplying! The new tank came to me courtesy of the execution of all things, the first from hey you. Here are your old tanks guys! I hope you like their new look.

Does anyone have tips for weathering tanks? Tom, if you see this please tell me how you weathred your SM vehicles. Thanks for the help guys. I will post pics of the finished tanks with turrets and the details painted in about a week. Then it will be time for weathering and battle damage. Please help with any suggestions you have or even a reference to a good book on the topic. Thanks again

For weathering, what I usually do is sloppily drybrush scorched brown and graveyard earth around the edges, and add a little bit of the weathering as the climate is (for instance, if it's supposedly going over grassy areas, then paint a little (tiny) bit of green here and there)

Thanks for the tip I'll give it a practice run on a the cheap model tank I bought to test the paint scheme until I get it right. Please continue with the suggestions.
