Default Parchment, Purity seal's and robes

I hate painting them! because they usually come out bad.
I paint bleached bone, the hilight with skull white.

I know their is a better looking way to do this (but more complicated) but since I'm getting more into painting and the way my mod;es look, i was wondering if anyone post a guide on painting Parchment, Purity seal's and robes?

My way on painting robes:

Snakebite leather, snakebite with equal white, snakebite with double white, watered down snakebite, then skull white highlights.

Purity seals:

Snakebite leather, equal snakebite and white, white. The little red bit is painted white, then red gore, then inked with black ink - watered down.

For paper I usually do bleached bone over an undercoat of scorched brown. I don't bother with transfers for words, I just do thin squiggles with the odd big capital letter every paragraph and gaps in the lines.

To paint my purity seals/banners/parchment/whatever,
I always use the same technique.
First, I use a layer of beastial brown.
Then a heavy drybrush with snakebite leather.
Then a lighter drybrush with bone white.
And finally a very light drybrush with skull white.

Always turned out great for me.
I could put a picture up as an example if it is desirable.
