Default My new Crisis Suits

Here are two of my Crisis Suits - Commander Shas'El and Monat (inspired by p.7 of the Codex)

Comments are welcome.

Nice conversions man., They look very dynamic. And don't ask why, but whenever I look at the one top I think of a woman giving birth :P.

Can't say I feel the same about the birthing part ...

Otherwise, very nice. Seriously. Consider putting the 'el in the mass battlesuit thread? Also, this should technically be in 'Showcase' unless you aren't actually finished ... Meh, save that for when you've got them nice and based.

Thanks for feedback.
As for a first one, I wanted it to be like he's dropping from Manta or something else. (see p.7 of Codex). I really consider putting him on a higher slottabase, 'cause I feel something wrong about it too
And yes, they arn't finished yet (I got to finish the bases). And I also considerin CIB for my 'El

Great poses, How hard was it to get that pose? I was thinking of doing that with the next suit I got. Nice smooth looking reds and blue. For the base you can model some very small craters and maybe use some small dibris to make a miniature battle field

Thanks again.

Modelling wasn't really hard (for me at least ).
The Sunforge one had its leg cut below knee joint, than I reversed the ankles (otjerwise they won't bent back as much as I wanted them to) and glue them on.
Shas'el was a little bit tricky. Did the same cut of legs, position them as I wanted (took some time) and glue them on. Also cut right hand in elbow joint, positioned it as it is and glue it on.
Be careful thogh than cutting, the plastic is really prone to breaking! I personally cut it from multiple directions.

As for colors: I used Chaos Black undercoat; than two-three layers of Enchanted Blue, thinned with water; edges were than highlighted (I know it's hard to see - light tricks, you know ) with a mix of Enchanted Blue\Skull White. All recesses were than painted with thinned down Chaos Black. Shas'El head, shoulders, and some other parts on both suits are Blood Red with Blood Red\Skull White mix drybrush. Weapons' black parts were drybrushed with Bleached Bone.
