Default Painting glass

I have problems painting lenses and glass to give them that...well...glassy look. You know how it looks like the light is shining on it and it seems see-through. Well, any tips? A good example of this is fire warrior's eyes, or any kind of gem.

there are a few tricks to doing this, but this was the best one of the lot I find. Link is to a page of the paint clinic. A link for it can be found in the tutorials sticky where tere are links to other sites with great painting tips and tutorials(hence the name).

Okay thanks, but actual photos would be better, rather than word-art or whatever that was :P

That helped however

To paint the lenses, a basecoat of Scab Red was highlighted with Red Gore followed by Blood Red. A final highlight of Blazing Orange was applied before small dots of Skull White were painted on.

What about human windshields, windows, ect? IF you were to paint over the clear things.
