[Essence]

Can anyone gimme a few ideas on some colors to paint my GK army? I was thinking something like blue/black...but i dont know how good that will turn out, and i dont want to stick with the codex. Also, please note that this is my first time painting, so try and make it as easy as possible =)

But the codex ones are purdy, they're all shiny and stuff! Well you can prime them white and then paint the details in various colors, since white is a color of "purity" and GKs are known to be pure and uncorruptable.

Think of using Gold instead of Grey makes them appear more like shinning warriors for the God Emporor...

Hmm, one simple yet effective way I can think of would be to get a black and two colours of blue. Paint the model black, then "flatbrush" (make the brush flat, apply paint then use the flat of it instead of the point) the edges and raised areas with blue, and then go over that with a brighter blue at the very edges. This should cause a good, strong contrast, dark mysterious feel (which IMO is the only thing that can do the models justice) while still being very simple to pull off. Maybe a tab of white at the VERY edges, then paint parchments etc ... not sure how you'd want to paint the sword or insignia though.

i gotaa say GK wouldn't suit stuff liek black or blue, but if u used a silver tinted blu that'd be cool, or maybe just a metallic blue
