Default [Colour Scheme] New Urban Scheme for my next Cadre

Hi All,

Still nutting out my new urban scheme, tending to settle on this idea. The greys are Codex Grey over 'Dark Grey' by Vallejo. The dark disruption bands are Chaos + Codex Grey and the suit fabric is made up of two earthen shades by Vallejo.

Then a GW Orange for various markings. In two coats the marking stand out really well.

Chose a violet iris for extra menace.

Thoughts ?

Hm.......orange huh? I kinda prefer the colour black.

But in all, good concept.

Well...there's a reason it's orange...I can say no more.

Thanks Crisis

Orange seems to attract attention in real urban combat. All the camo i see are always grey, black, beige and white in colour.

No prob dude.

I like the bright color for markings and I think the overall scheme will look great. The only thing I'd say is that you might want to change from orange to another color since GW is using it for their urban scheme. Perhaps a darker yellow or Red/Orange mix?

First your drawing is excellent as always!

Second, IMO the spotty brown under wavy gray will make for an all neutral figure that will appear dull on the table. I predict you won't like it after a couple of games.

Perhaps a base color for the uniform such as chaos black.

the orange, if burnt orange would be great! If blaze orange, not so great.

My army right now has much gray in it and the overall effect is dull even though I also use blood read, chaos black, and badmoon yellow. The gray just takes it away. I won't be using it again as only black seems to make it stand out.

Also consider stipleing. I've experamented on a test figure and it seems passable. Paint armor majority color, then dry spounge contrasting color. Gives the effect of pixel cammo if very dry, of motled if dry.

Just some ideas.

My only thought is that the units will look drab on the table, like WANAX stated. I like a camo pattern with a solid base (I do camo'ed cloth and solid armor) helps to not only make the camo stand out, but at least the mini will be noticed!

I dunno though...usually your work is so excellent...and your shading to near perfect, that you can probably make it work. I don't bother shading camo (except the deepest part of the cloth), so that might be my issue.

Super awesome drawing by the way. I downloaded it from your website and use is all the time...but my coloring has yet to look as nice as yours!

This scheme is great! But I'd paint the markings with blood red or red gore, but it's just my opinion.Anyway it's really good and can't wait to see it painted.

I like the scheme, but I'm kinda wondering if reversed might not be better? grey under suit and brown camo armor?

I know it's supposed to be Urban camo, but I think it'd still work.
