Default Tau bfg in experimental ships

Ive been working in the yards again. these ships are ment to fill the gap of light carrier and gun ship transport for fleet support.

And not to be short on escorts

These will be welcomed by the combined fleet

Whats on your bench?

I do have a set for them,

cost 180
hull 6
armour 5/6 ( deflector)
speed 10-20 cm
turn 45
port railgun 3 p/f 45cm
starboard railgun 3 s/f cm
launchbay str 4
grave hooks 3
Tracking system, 15 cm range to support of other craft in fleet.
turrets 3

Both varients are fleet support carriers to bring more mantas and warden/orcas to conflict zones.

In the last week Ive worked on the stub nosed varient, currently she has 2 bored out launch bays in the nose, I may fill that in and make one large central launch bay and add nose protrusions line a manta rays front tenticles, ( those will be for housing the prow deflector.

Costs are still under concideration as to a fair price, since price formulas are not same for every ship in bfg the debate will always rankle some.
The 2 smaller wing escorts I havent really decided on thier arment. likly they will end up as a cross between warden and castallan.

Update on progress,
Ive extended the main launch bay, I wanted a large forward central hanger. Still needs work to smooth out her lines, Almost to the point where Ill need to add green stuff to smooth out deep gaps. Im still working on design elements for the side tenticles that will be on either side of the main launch bay. One concept is straight rigid like the forward arms of the Custodian. Another is a curved inward set like the blade of a scimitar.

In the back ground are a later pressing of a mosly cleaned emmissary and protector. Both came out better than expected and will probably see service on the table top in the not too distant futer.

What did you makes these out of?

Did you use any templates?

If no templates, then your work is that much better to get them all looking the same, but if you did, you should sell them. I think a few people would like these moulds ;D

These are made out of Sculpy. Its a oven baked clay/ plastic thats easy to work with. It carves with knives and sands quite nicly, I get my sculpy from Target from the childrens art supplies isle. The while sculpy works out the best. The colored ones are more brittle. A package runs about 12-14 dollars.
I used one sided press moldes made out of the same stuff. so the underside details need to be either recreated or redisighned on what I would like.

As to sell them, No.
All sales of these shapes is the property of Forge world and would be a violation of copy right law. I make copies for my scratch build projects since its expensive to buy FW models just to chop em up for parts.

Work is progressing on both prototypes.
The right one has had its centerline engines mounted and green stuffed in. Its underside well deck is still in design with 2 pieces ( not shown) competting for approval.

Left side is having its forwayard launch bays fitted, Im pleased with the look. Its like a mini custodian. Its under side well deck is like its sister ship competting for approval.

Just behind the 2 ships are a new manata and baracuda mold. Ive made one pressing and the results were very encouraging. These ships will have thier attack craft wings Fabricated.

Correction. I stated that a block of sculpy was about 12 to 15 dollars. I was mistaken, I purchased a block yesturday for 6 dollars. the block is about 10 inches by 4 by 2 brick. alot of material for just a few dollars. Its no supstitute for Green stuff for sealing cracks and filling holes but its great to fabricate whole parts.
